It takes PD 3-6 months to put a car into the game.
That's right, 3-6 months PER car, NOT including time it takes to do a photo shoot (which they usually need to travel outside of Japan for). So with over 1000 cars... that's some serious time and man power.
This info comes from the newest Playstation The Official Magazine (Feb 2010, Issue 029)
And right after the paragraph describing that it states: "Each car is considered a work of art by the team, ...
"Hmm let's see here what's on N4G... Oh a GT5 article! Oh wtf it's about GT5? God damn not this again!"
@3.1
You're completely wrong. Unless you just mean aesthetic customization, in which case, you can go play NFS Underground or some other ****.
@1.5
You could do that in GT3 as well (The Escudo Pikes Peak Version thing)
I just want to chime in and say that this guy really underestimates Gran Turismo 5.
"With all that to look forward to, are we really going to notice something like Gran Tourismo 5?"
That line just really bothered me (I see no reason why it wouldn't be up there with other heavy hitters. It's ****ing Gran Turismo).
And he even spelled it wrong :/
Signing on a star athlete? This is closer to how strangers offer young children candy to get in their cars, when they can just get candy from their parents when they get home.
I want to second Vice City, but not exactly.
Let me explain. GTA 3 had Liberty City, but so did GTA IV. I'd like GTAIV: Vice City, so to speak. Can be completely different characters, but I'd love that atmosphere and charisma.
I wouldn't want a VI remake because it WOULD ruin the style. VII would be VASTLY improved (just look at PS1 graphics to PS3 tech demo).
VI is fine as is, in my eyes.
Do you guys really not know why a FFVII remake is such a popular idea? Well, I guess I'll show you a very popular video. It's a FFVII PS3 tech demo.
Remake FFVII to look like this and I'd buy it in a heart beat. $150+ collector's edition? Preordered the day I can.
That's just me, of course... but there are a lot of people that would like this to happen.
Yeah, as long as SONY has the games, then they won't die. That's what the *true* gamers care about. Not the internet trolls, not the fanboys, the people who enjoy video games. SONY provides more than enough. We sometimes have to wait a year or two, but just look at what's on the table...
Well worth my patience.
And note that I'm not saying anything negative about MS or Nintendo here, just commenting on "SONY will die" BS.
So you play video games to look cool in front of other people? Or what?
I really don't see how that's at all of an issue.
@ppl saying SONY has nothing for holiday '10.
Everything we know about SONY's line up is in the first half of '10. SONY hasn't had a completely stangant lineup for the fall season this whole generation. Wait until E3 and some release dates before thinking you know every detail about what's happening.
Natal is going to be a bullet in MS's gun, but it's not a tactical nuke or anything like that. Especially since PS3 will have had motion control for months by that time....
Definitely agree. It's been something I've always kept in mind. Especially the "loss" of MGS / DMC / GTA / FF "exclusivity" (although I use these terms very, very loosely). If those franchises were beneficial to SONY, then they could have chocked up some money to keep them.
Instead we'll see Japan getting FFXIII PS3 exclusive, FF(V)XIII, Yakuza 3, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3, The Last Guardian, 3D Dot Game Heroes, White Knight Chronicles (and its ...
Nothing would beat winning the PS3 in the image I've attached.
I don't think he means the console can live long in the consumer's hands or anything like that. He means that games can continue to release on the system.
Kind of like how my Dreamcast works perfectly, but is dead in the gaming world.
I'm glad to see MS saying this. I've been worried that they'd jump the gun and dive into a new console generation like with the 360.
To know they'll wait is good news for me.
"New Consoles"
Hell no. Maybe one new console like a Wii HD, but the next gen will not be that soon.
I disagree. My PS3 is just now starting to feel right. Not out dated at all (I'm not at all interested in the tech side of things, though. I'm a game play kind of man).
@18.1
It's kind of like the turtle and the hare. Hare comes out blazing and impresses with speed. Turtle says "**** all that noise" and just trots on towards his win.
Just gotta wait awhile to see if this little "console war" ends the same.
This isn't necessarily about Modern Warfare 2. Some people look at the Microsoft aspect of this article.
