Am I the only person who doesn't want a LPB sequel? I mean the first is already perfect in so many ways, the only thing they need to add is better jumping mechanics, larger thermometer and better accessibility to its mechanics.

Most likely money. I doubt though Activision will give them a long dev cycle and much creative freedom. Even Infinity Ward devs had to wrestle with Acti just to create the Modern Warfare franchise.
Honestly, maybe there's something else to this deal but a 10 year contract with Activision seems like one of the biggest mistake to make in this day and age.
Supermarket are starting to take an interest in the game industry. Remember not so long ago the big supermarkets like Asda, Tesco's and Sainsbury had a price war for Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa 10? Those took alot sales from GAME and will continue to do so.
