Reply to #6.1.1:
We all here are different (well, almost). We are the ones that have accounts on gaming sites, read through dozens of gaming news weekly (at least), heavily analyze/criticize what we listen/read, debate about it. To us, this discussion says a lot about the industry, IGN, gaming 'journalism'. And absolutely nothing about BF4.
But we are not the main target of these previews...
A lot of people only read one site or none,...
That doesn't mean we have already seen what is coming.
PC had the power, but now machines with PC power will have the help of the most talented developers, which, we all know, stay very away from the piracy king.
DRM.
Pure and simply screwing their fanbase again.
If that's true.
Because these schemes (GotY titles, reviews based on marketing money spent, reviews obeying hype, reviewers blinded by hype) decide where money goes.
And the direction of money dictates the direction of the industry.
Which deeply affect our gaming hobby. Almost always negatively.
A mechanic of a possible "friendly fire" would help with this.
Like that game where you had to do a heist and get away: it was easier with your team (yet you had to share the earnings), but one ally could always turn against the team, being marked and probably hunted for this.
The death of a criminal put him away from the round. The death of an innocent made this one come back as a cop.
(Kane and Lynch MP? I really don't remember)
Dark Souls. In other words, yes.
Deadly Premonition.
Shadows of the Damned.
That xbla ninja game.
Saboteur.
But not today!
Today we fight!
Anyway, good luck on your game. It is not as hard as EA want it to look like.
Okay, that was nice, but... This video is clearly a Feedbackula (from Gamespot) clone.
(Which I actually think is better done, but the comments are not the same level of holy stupidity.)
Patches, the Hyena would make the trollest game ever.
The list is invalid.
All I see here is
EA
Another shooter
Demon's Souls atmosphere puts it way above any contender.
bla bla bla
Site rated down. Some naive people could actually believe in this marketing lie.
A sad joke.
Yup.
Our "community" is dumber than people that believe in Bush. We are ruining the industry, crappy product bought after crappy product bought.
Reason: This is a PR stunt.
If CVG (ugh) would do these questions, the developers won't ever agree on doing the "interview". Therefore, they wouldn't ask the questions anyway.
Basically, it is logically impossible to ask these questions then, at least when we are talking about PURE MARKETING instead of a proper interview.
What I'm trying to say is: their development should be based on "what I think will be awesome!", instead of "what I think players will call awesome!".
Actually, imo, is the second though that leads us to a thousand CoDs per year (with different names, including Battlefield 3 and Resident Evil 6) and dumbed down Assassin's Creeds. They are trying to follow a trend of casualization instead of their visions.
In other words, what about...
That's the point.
If they do what they want, we will only know when it arrives.
If they don't, we already know it is toned down to please the bitc***g "fans".
If you really think you know what you're doing, DO IT!
Developers have to listen to their instincts, rather than to public reactions. They are artists and their creativity HAS to be put into their work.
If you think it fits well, if you think your game will be really better this way, go fo it, CDPR!
I can't wait to see what how game THEY WANT TO DO is compared to what GENERAL PUBLIC WANTS.
Having no creativity is worse.
