I agree with the author here. I still don't believe the 3DS title will be largely relevant, based on what I've seen. Screams side story (incoming definition correction from crazy fan). Having a main title on a Nintendo device, let alone handheld is a kick in the balls. I'm saying it's chain of memories relevant at best, and this talk that it's a main is marketing. Time will tell...
I,II, and BBS are among my favorite, but I do agree that the story is kind of all over the place. I like donald, goofy, and mickey, but I can live without them if Nomura broke off from disney. Hell we can't even download BBS on the ps store because of disney's insecurity.
The 3ds is cheaper, and more casual friendly. Of course it's going to do better. Just like the wii, but Sony's has a different audience. Also Sony's software normally has more longevity, and doesn't need to be recycled as much as Nintendos.

Disagree if you want, but I found his reasoning sound. If the wii-U is too expensive, the casual market won't buy it. Also what is the incentive for the hardcore? If you game on pc/360/ps3, are you really going to invest in a slightly more powerful console with a screen on the controller? Another thing to take into account is third party dedication. I think core gamers, will be skeptical of the system. What's the incentive to play on the wii U? A screen on your controller for better inventory, and etc... is not enough to warrant a purchase in my opinion. I think core gamers need to see more enthusiasm from third parties as well. I still need to see more specs on the system, and price. When core gamers, know what to expect from Sony/Microsoft, why trust Nintendo, whose placed a huge emphasis on the casual market?

From my playthrough of the demo, the games world seems boring. The combat was cool, but the presentation was dull. Maybe I'll pick up at discount.
