I don't think you can simply dismiss this so easily by stating that:

I would argue that this is somewhat true in one case and false in another.

You make a good point in your second paragraph. I use PSN a decent amount at least I used to, either way not nearly as much as I'm on XBL. At any rate, my point was that I have had issues in the past but nothing like this with PSN. This sucks. I went to play some Killzone 3 this morning and was shocked to still find the service down.
Here's to hoping Sony gets this ironed out soon.

You're right, you don't by a console for services. But when you have a great library of titles and awesome services then you're really winning.
I've been on XBL since they were beta testing it on the original Xbox and in that entire time I've experienced one, maybe two down times that were not scheduled.
Both times the service was up and running in a few hours. For the small amount I pay for a year of XBL, I get my moneys worth. It's stable, reliable for online gaming and other services and has a lot of content.

I'm cool with mp being 10 player (I prefer smaller team sizes) but a 10 player co-op? I'm not so sure about that. That doesn't sound very fun. Then again, it's Naughty Dog. They are one of a handful of companies that could pull something like that off.

Homefront does (overall) look horrible. For an FPS at this time in the gaming industry, you have to come correct. HF is the exception I think because most games don't look just plain bad. I haven't spent much time on the MP but what I did play of it was solid.
As far as KZ3 and CY2 goes, I prefer the single player of CY2 but the MP of KZ3. That isn't saying much though as I don't think the KZ3 MP is that good. The game is good but much like most PS3 exclusives...
Graphics this and graphics that. This generation of gamers blows for that simple reason. Any dialogue about games boils down to graphics or sales.
I love a great looking game, just as much as the next guy but that is only a part of a larger whole that contributes to making a great game. One that isn't even a must. I don't see what age has to do with it at all. I'm 34 and post. My wife son and I are all active gamers. I don't see what's wrong at all posting on a game forum if you're a gamer. I'd do it if I was really into something else.

Maybe it's just me but many of this generations "AAA must have exclusives" are anything but. I wouldn't say that they are flat out stinkers but they are not the be all end all games that some would have you believe.
