well, DMC4 already has the accomplisments implemented like how you said (minus the in-game XMB feature) and i'm pretty sure that same type of system will be put in aside from having a trophy to show off in your home.
right now with DMC4, it tells me what/which friends have accomplished what task and it's global regarding your friends list.
i'm pretty sure it will be part of the accomplishment/trophy system once it's been finalized.
this is how Sony had always planned on generating revenue from its free online network. they'll make the $ back from these ads as well as the Developer "Homes" and DLC.
I think MS should follow suit and let Live be free and generate their revenue somewhere else. Online gaming should be free as it is.
Sony NEEDS to stress their FREE online more in ads and even on the packages of online games. Let it be known. The PSN is still young and needs a lot of work to...
no worries, most of my friends are Leafs fans (representing home)
anyway, i'm one of those who doesn't care about achievements or trophies. but there are those out there that are whores to that. i don't think a little thing like trophies or achievements is really a seller to many, except the core gamers.
i'm still interested in what Sony plans to do with this so-called trophy system though, and more interested in seeing MS revamp their own achievement system.
...
and the 360 gets Blu-ray, then all the people who threw stones at the PS will look like idiots. serves them right.
it's not good for anyone in the industry for any one company to have such leverage. i hope someone steps in to stop this sort of thing. EA will ruin T2's reputation as they will ruin Bioware's.
i rarely (if ever) buy EA games. EA is the equivalent of MS
you're about as much of a winner as the team in your avatar.
but i agree with you in that the trophy system won't skyrocket PS3 games in a blink of an eye, but they're A LOT better than seeing a plain boring static number next to a persons tag.
it's more "IN YO' FACE" when it's a 3D trophy
and the EA dude is an idiot. there's only positive things for a game to have a trophy or achievements. it adds to the game not takes away. he's a bafoon
yeah you're right, no wonder 360's don't sell there
;P
you actaully suck MS sausage the best... keep sucking every console that breaks on you... SUCKER.
crap ASIAN games? wow, you must not like 85% of games that ever existed. racist any?
yeah, i don't know why some people think that people look at it as a blu-ray player first and not a game machine. it's like all those AAA exclusives have nothing to do with people buying a PS3. some idiots think the 10M ps3 owners only bought it for a blu-ray player when the number is more like less than 10% that bought it for blu-ray alone.
boo! EA! don't ruin a great company as Take Two.
is on the rise. if you haven't noticed yet 98% of TV's manufactured now are HDTV's. There won't be any standard TV's and they will cease manufacturing them very, very soon. anyone that buys a new TV since a few years ago have/will go HD and with that they will want to watch their media in HD.
they whole hype about this current gen in gaming is about HD. people looking for a console would also want one that plays an HD media out of the box. consumers look to the future when buying...
people who think downloaded movies will "TAKE OVER" any physical media are lying to themselves. downloads will be an OPTION but won't be the standard for at LEAST a decade (10 yrs for the uneducated) and even by then a new physical media will take over. downloads will be an option then as well. and don't give me the mp3 argument because the file sizes are WAY different. who the hell wants to dl 20+ GB for each movie? i sure as hell don't
you got that right, the demo was awesome
well, at least they aren't going to drop the price to snag some stupid people so i give props to MS for that. but i'm actually surprised by this.
all i know is most people don't ever FINISH a GTA game and after a few months there are other AAA games out so it will be on the back burner for most people. only core GTA fans would want this extra content and the casual outnumbers the core-core and dlc won't be the thing that steers them.
and you're an idiot to think it will be 2 big cities. ONE is even laughable. come back to reality. it will be more missions like opening some of the buildings that are locked or whatever, but ...
that avatar should say fanboy NOT gamer. you are no gamer, just a fanboy.
i won't be needing or wanting the DLC anyhow since i don't buy expansions or add-ons for games i buy
i like the idea of a cross-platform engine, but that also means it's not built from the ground up exclusively for the PS3 architecture and so i don't know how far they can push the platform. but i guess if the game is exclusive then there shouldn't be much to worry about.
it's a shame that they didn't show an entirely new video with more in-game footage. it's the in-game that i'm more interested in because i know SE like to push a platform as much as they can.
Lame life award. congrats
PSN will be revamped for sure and i think it's taking long because of Home itself. it needs to both mesh together seamlessly, even though Home is just an option, it seems it's more of a priority than the in-game XMB. it'll happen. Sony hears us...
