the thing is, there are a lot of western gamers, like myself who really enjoy the games coming from the east, more so than the ones developed by western developers. i find that storytelling and character development is more superior in the games that come from japan.
but all of this is personal preference and there are those that love games from the east as there are those who love games from the west and so each side knows what audience it is catering to.

$100? unlikely, Sony is losing $ as it is. They really don't need to do anything until the supposed 360 price cut has a really significant impact to the PS3's monthly sales.
360 dropped in price in EU and didn't do much for them. Sony never followed suit because it didn't have a significant impact on the PS3 sales. The only time Sony will drop the price if they see that it needs to be done.

i don't think MS has outsold Sony worldwide in the longest time now, let alone the month of July.
once Sony finds a 360 price cut cutting into it's monthly sales significantly they will follow suit with their own price cut.
the story is the biggest factor for me and from what i've read up on it it sounds very awesome.
yeah, xbox zealots won't like to hear this, but that green casing is butt ugly and doesn't match any decor. and i agree, the color takes away from the cover art.
but it's a psychological marketing decision to have it really bright to catch the eye easier, but for the home, i might go out and buy blank black dvd cases to swap them in.

Due to the realization that "next-gen" actually needed a standard HDD. Microsoft Corp. has again made the unwise choice of phasing out the 20GB to be replaced by a 60GB which still lacks the many standard features of the PLAYSTATION®3.
If Microsoft Corp. hired professionals instead of the Circus Clowns they would have never created the Arcade SKU but have all SKU's include an HDD as standard.
