The fact that it is the stand alone Kinect units that are selling while the Kinect bundles are always in stock give a good indication that it is mostly existing Xbox 360 owners that are buying Kinect.

If we went back to before Microsoft bought the Kinect tech and showed it off at their infamous first E3 showing where they did a bad job faking their demos and asked Xbox owners what they wanted to see Microsoft focus on it would have been 0 percent who would have said they wanted Eye Toy style motion controls.
The PS3 has another 6 to 7 years on the market. Most likely years longer than the Wii. I don't think it really is a question if the PS3 will pass the Wii in sales, just how long it will take.
