Lots of these types of articles today, I guess Microsoft is done having the media playing them as the underdog now that the EU agreed ti tier buyout. Big surprise...
This is a bad ruling. They missed the key thing the CMA understood.
Microsoft has an agreement with all these streaming services where they get all the profit, and these streaming services are leasing their servers. So Microsoft is now in the position to lease these "so-called" streaming services Azure and take all the profits from the games they are leasing them.
The whole idea that Microsoft is growing the industry or diversifying is just a f...
Zelda is 30 FPS because it's pushing the hardware to its limits. Redfall is 30 FPS because it was rushed and unfinished from top to bottom. Zelda didn't need a sticker on the box to avoid legal issues from falsely claiming to be 60 fps.
And besides FPS was the least of Redfalls issues, even if it had 60 FPS it would still have been one of the lowest-reviewed games of the year. Zelda is the frontrunner for Game of the Year.
If you scroll down a bit someone asks about the xbox version, here is an interesting reply.

Can’t say for sure just yet on Xbox, but what we have seen on the series X is that performance tends to be a bit lower by default and we will have to spend extra time to optimize for it.
This is not a first-party studio.
I'm not sure this has anything to do with Sony, these studios need to be solvent on their own. PlayStation is not funding the studio, they simply had an arrangement for a game. These studios still need to be able to keep the lights on long enough to complete the game.
This is incorrect, while recently it may seem like that. Nintendo has had its fair share of S/E exclusives as well.
But of course, Nintendo doesn't whine when Sony gets a game and Sony doesn't whine when Nintendo gets a game.
It's just Microsoft who has to constantly play the victim.
So what, are they going to send some US senator to harass S/E? Buy S/E to keep games off PlayStation and Nintendo platforms so Japanese people can't play the games on the consoles they want to buy and already own?
Gaming would be better without Microsoft.
If xbox fans started buying S/E games then maybe S/E would start putting their games on xbox.
It's not that surprising, this is a company that just fired 6000 people largely from their gaming division. I mean they bought up these companies then fired large swaths of their staff.
People who work for Activision that aren't named Bobby should be concerned for their jobs if the deal goes through because there are going to be some big layoffs in store for them.
What about all that support Phil said the game was going to get after launch?
They haven't even put out the 60FPS patch that was on the back of the box and they are already talking about making another game?
I feel like this announcement only further highlights the problems with Phil and Microsoft.
It's a bit of a stretch to try to call playing a game that hasn't even been released yet "game preservation" that is just piracy.
I hope Nintendo puts a stop to companies that are allowing their customers to play games their competition is still selling.
If even one person reads this and plays it and has half as much fun as I did I'll be super happy.
PS Plus IS the best gaming subscription.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Is fantastic, I can't recommend it highly enough.
Even though you have never heard of it it went on to sell well over a million copies.
It's amusing that this article comes out the day after Sony starts a new Hero Project in India, and days before they put Humanity day one on PS Plus, and a month after they launched PSVR 2.
I don't think Pixel was really closed.
Think of it from a business standpoint. These days a studio with 100 people is small for PlayStation with many studios being 300-500+ people.
So, PixelOpus was 18 people, from a management standpoint that's a nightmare, Herman Hulst can't be flying around the world to deal with 18 people, right?
So every studio has been hiring, now imagine you have a project that needs a few more arti...
This is pretty cool, I have played quite a few games made in China over the years but I can't think of a single game made in India that I even know about.
It will be very interesting to see what a society that is so closed off from the West and that is seemingly so new to the gaming world will make. India has an extremely diverse and interesting cultural history there is a ton of potential to tell stories the West hasn't heard before.
Zeref, first off it's factually incorrect that Microsoft invests more money or has more projects than Sony or Nintendo.
And none of your links include anything about Microsoft going to India or China to find indie developers and provide them with funding, advertising, and most importantly localization services including multi-language translations allowing them to reach global audiences.
This is about PlayStation taking developers from parts of the wo...
This whole thing is bad for gaming, now we're on the doorstep of having Microsoft control gaming the way they control PC operating systems which is bad enough but now we have to worry about them actually being able to force the gaming industry towards crappy streaming.
Not to mention their ability to steamroll PlayStation the only real thing keeping them in check.
And of course, Microsoft did what every big American cooperation does they looked for so...
