reason being. a lot of halo fans have not even bought a 360 yet, still playing halo 2 on the original box. You'll see a month long, maybe a month and a half surge in 360 sales simply because of halo 3, and those halo fans once they beat halo 3 will go back and pick up gears see how great that is and jump off the halo story over to the gears story. win win in my book.

except for the last part...gaming rigs are getting cheaper and cheaper by the second. For the price of a elite or a ps3 you could get not only a cheap, but pretty decent gaming rig. all u probably have to do is beef up your memory and possibly your graphics card and bam, your in the game. I know what your saying.."your still gonna spend close to 750.00" and your right but you combine the price of xbl and DLC for both consoles and your still coming out cheaper in 1 to 2 years time...
I'm just glad the dreamcast did not make the list. Dreamcast was a excellent machine, but a classic case of the past coming back to haunt a company. Had Sega Japan and Sega America been on one accord I think Sega would still be in the console race...Sadly they are now only a shadow of their former self.
and u have to be completly blind if you think publishers aren't trying to up the ante to make their game look good. Didn't kotaku expose EA for sending them photo shop polished screen shots of live 2008? Bottom line is if you like a certain game and u feel that game is for you get. I really wanna play halo 3, mass effect, cod4, mario galaxy, smash brothers, killzone 2, uncharted: drakes fortune and little big planet. no worries. Once i get it back. I'll play and beat halo 3. wanted to play mass effect, but the poor customer service did it for me. with all the games I have I can get about 350.00 for console and games from gamestop, add another 200.00 to that and get a ps3. my kids both have a psp and ds anyway. my daughter can remote link to the wii, and my son son can remote play with the ps3. Word of advice to msoft customer service. It's not my fault I got the red rings

considered the japanese market. they love mario and they will destroy some smash brothers!!!! I mean behind halo 2 smash is probably the next most played multiplayer game around, and mario is a Icon dump on him all you want, but without that immortal plumber gaming as we know it would not exist. both of which drop in november and december respectivly. Halo 3 will sell extremely well, but dropping in september most halo fanaticals will have it on launch day (9/25) and by the holiday it'll be the wii's turn to rake in profits from fanboys...
Whether your an fanboy or not, You have to like peter's honesty. I'll say this ; with my 360 getting the RROD and Peters vote of confidence in the PS3. I think I'll be getting my ps3 sooner than january. Is it me or did it seem like Peter didn't seem to enthused about the 360's future????
The guy that only buys 2 games a year. Madden and Tiger woods. Why should he spend 4 to 500 bucks on a system he will rarely touch when he can get a cheap alternative with the wii??? a system that even his girlfriend or wife may actually play and enjoy with him?
