Alan Wake will be their kind of game, I mean they like games like Silent Hill, Resident evil why not showcase AW over there? Also TGS is for Asia not just japan, and outside of Japan specifically in Korea the 360 is the number 2 gaming system right behind the PC over there. Once again it only appeals to a niche crowd, but to the guys over there who are former pc gamers, or don't have enough bread to keep up with their pc gaming buddies the 360 is a nice alternative.
Technically we could go back and say PSX in japan was derived from Tivo or MSN tv, but we'd just be splitting hairs.
Your years comparison between xbl and psn is null and void to me. yes PSN is new and should not be compared to live video store, but Sony has in-house movie studios and should have more connections in hollywood in my mind they even.
lots of people are misinformed and therefore should be talking about the other consoles service if you've never experienced it.

it was a lame joke but it was a joke nonetheless. He was basically saying that every idea in the industry started somewhere. Let the guy let his hair down. I'm sure if that had been Jack T. or Peter Dile everything would be all good, but because good ole D-Mite as I like to call him says something and he's part of the big bad MSFT people carry on like he got WMD's.....

simple fact. i guess the author of the article didn't get the memo. MSFT let it be known last year that their year to year strategy is to focus on games in the current year.
Basically if Alan Wake aint ready for this year or 1st quarter next year they won't be announcing it. Couple that with the fact that their are a few other events that msft is gonna be attending and they'll need titles to keep the hype train moving. AW could be one of em, you never know.
but MSFT did try to have a mascot. They actually tried twice.
First was Blinx which pretty much flopped.
Next was Vodoo Vince who they need to bring back cuz that was actually a good platformer.
but it pretty much stabilizes their shareholders and investors concerns that they can actually make a profit the gaming space. At this point whether they "win" these so called console wars or not they are making a profit and that alone will keep them relevant in the industry.

I'v never been a big bomberman player soooo that's out of the question, but the other titles are some good bargin bin titles for new and soon to be 360 owners.
i do think Sony was Sony's own worst enemy in the beggining of the ps3's life cycle because they openly supported the ps2 so strong. For example I told a few of my buddies who have ps2's that madden was not coming out for ps2 this year they almost passed out and began making plans to save up for either a 360 or ps3. after I told them I was joking they stopped they said they'll just wait until they no choice but to upgrade and I feel a lot of people have the same mentality
MSFT and nintendo were not making money off their previous consoles. Sony on the other hand has the luxury of owning the biggest phenomenon in console gaming. I don't think it's a disservice I think it's a fact that they don't wanna lose the revenue stream from the ps2. If they were to stop supporting the ps2 I know a few people who would get a xbox, even though they would prefer the ps3. they'd get a xbox simply becuz of price not looking at xbox live or anything else they offer.

last year sony unveiled a lot of stuff that was no where near release, and most of it we are still waiting on and they got rippied for. Aside from MAG and GOW III everything they announced is this year or early next year, same thing goes for msft. I like the new approach. at least this way we don't have to wait a year or more to get the games they showcase.
don't have the technical know how, nor do they care to download files and executables to be able to stream netflix to the 360 now. If someone really wanted they could have a brower on their 360 via the media center extender. What's easy to us tech heads and hardcore gamers is not so easy to the casual gamer. netflix streaming to the 360 is simplified with the new process and most people like simple.
This article is lame
after giving a game like grand theft auto a freaking 10 most reviewers got called out now everybody wants to be over critical of even the smallest thing. I mean I guess we totally ignore the fact that the game is a little over 6 months away. plenty of time to tweak some things. It's not like they were playing a near final build of the game.....
