The games are connected through character stories. But each game is a stand-alone adventure.
So in a way, you're right.
Now every other game coming out that takes this approach with female characters will be copying Gears. Because, you know, they did it first. /S

All they talked about was Sony's push for games to look more realistic, like some Xbox games were.
The whole time Naughty Dog is talking about the looks and character modelling/rendering.
The author added the word "shape" to the title and a picture of Gears next to it and you fanboys filled in the blanks.

I like the Galaxy games. But I've been playing platformers for years and to me it's not the best. Although that's probably because I like proper side-scrolling Mario games, like the New SMB games on DS and Wii. Along with other non-Mario platformers like LBP<3
All game saves, updates/patches are done in the game cards.
This article lost credit the moment they typed that title.

And why are they making the charging dock an issue? It's optional and there's no NEED for it to be included.
I'd rather just use the normal charger(AC adapter) included with the PSV which allows me to keep playing while charging!

It means COD is simple. COD's subject is based on something that exists(for the most part).
He's only talking about games like COD and Madden. Not about Gears. Obviously Gears isn't any harder to understand than COD.
They're really great games.

These systems are aimed at different markets.
Mommy isn't going to buy her kid a smartphone + pay for a phone plan so he/she can play games!
People who are old enough and are actual gamers who enjoy handheld gaming, will get a proper gaming system.
This is Nintendo and PlayStation we're talking about. But then again, the casual market can fall for anything.
