PSN has as good as or in some cases better sales than Steam now a days. Steam still holds the edge on the volume of games sales under $30 sales though.
I'm going to read between the lines.
Our expansion DLCs don't sell well. So we're going to sell you cosmetics.
4K HDR is great even though the frame rate is garbage. In some games like Dues EX I'm willing to suffer through that peasant FPS for the sweet 4K HDR.
This is basically on Sony. Their policies do not allow for public test servers of retail games. In multiplat online connected games, this is a must in the PC world. Oddly enough the PC version works fine.
This gen sucked. The lack of risk and innovation on both sides really bought console gaming back a step.
Witcher 3 at 60 FPS is badass too.
I was very skeptical but I have to agree here. I don't even care if it's not native 4K. The improvement over standard 1080p is quite visible and welcomed.
Now they just need to work on the performance.
Are you serious or are you using a giant 100 lbs 4K CRT monitor? LCDs monitors uses interpolation to display non-native resolution, and yes while they all accept multiple resolutions nobody in their right mind uses none native resolution because interpolation looks like crap.
Wait. You bought the PS4 Pro but the only game you're interested in Samurai Warriors 4?
WHAT?? Nobody is interested in Samurai Warriors 4. If you're going to buy a PS4 Pro, buy it to play Uncharted 4, BF1 or even CoD Infinite Warfare. There's a list of Pro enhanced games at launch. You know, research you should've done before you rush out to buy the latest console.
LG TVs are preferred because they have a model that hits the 4K and 1080p sweet spot for PC gamers. The ability to support both 1080p and 4K natively doesn't exist in PC monitors so PC gamers who prefers the best of both worlds would seek out certain LG TVs.
Since this issue doesn't exist for the PC, I think you are correct about the upscaling and HDR problem.
I wouldn't even wait, the Pro is worth it on day one.
What crusade? Did the truth hurt your fragile fanboy mind?
Don't waste your time getting a high-performance drive for your PS4. The system is bandwidth capped when it comes to data transfer. Digital Foundry found that PS4 and Pro god awful load times are inherent within the OS. When using the exact same 7200 rpm and SSD on the PC the games load nearly twice as fast. That's not even factoring a PC feature that most games has called "quickload". With that PCs can literally load a Skyrim save file in 5-7 seconds or less.
If only 5% of people upgrade their HDD it means 95% of PS4 gamers have absolutely SHIT hard drives performance and storage. A pathetic statistic.
It's actually less than 50/50 as there are more bad Pro games than good. For every Uncharted 4 and Rachet you get Dishonored 2 and Dues EX. The experience is very inconsistent right now, instead of getting a superior experience in every game instead Pro owners must deal with trade offs.
There should be no trade-offs. As for splitting fanbase, how does Pro split the fanbase? Pro games are basically PS4 games with better graphics and performance, or at least they're s...
Xcom 2 on the console is an abomination of the PC experience. XCom 2 is a game that comes with a lot of none negotiable mods. Meaning they're must have to enhance the base experience, to the point where can be considered as unofficial DLCs and patches such as adjustable turn limits, more character customizations and gameplay tweaks. Playing without these mods basically means that you're missing out on a huge portion of the game.
Reason number 1. Its 50/50 that Pro games are running worst than their PS4 counterpart and it's a damn shame. The hallmark of power isn't checkerboard upscaling but performance, and the 1st gen Pro games are falling short. To compound the issue some Pro games are merely upscaled without any increase in texture resolutions. So instead of getting a rich 4K experience you get a 4K game with the same spartan visuals the 1080p models.
Perhaps this a 1st gen issue and the...
So far the best Pro games are Uncharted 4 and Rachet and Clank. These two games really shows what the Pro is capable of. There are some others like Titanfall 2 and BF1 but they're a rung down. Tomb Raider is another decent one but it doesn't live up to the hype, the title suffers from frame drops in all modes.
60 FPS is a true indication of power. That's why so few console games have this feature. Speaking of which the Pro version of Watch Dogs 2 runs worst than the standard PS4 version. Pathetic really.
This must be a crap game because all they do is hype it up for years without showing anything of substance. For example, a gameplay vid with zero actual gameplay.
I'm done with this game.
