First of all, people knew it would do bad. The extent of how bad was uncertain. This number is lower than what most xbox fans thought. There is no defending or spinning the number. Hell, it might not even sell ps4s first week sales in its life.
Secondly, maybe you are getting disagrees because of the victimhood mentality that you are portraying which is just pathetic.
What happens to the news article when VGC adjusts the Wii U by at least 300k for last quarter alone. Maybe even more for the current quarter but i wouldn't expect that so soon. VGC is a joke, they still have ps4 undertracked after official confirmation. Are we going to get another article when vgc shows it crossing 7m again in another month?
@loktai, no one is marketing it that way because it would be a bad marketing job. Think if one company said it and their friends had the opposite console. It would backfire. However, you can't deny that friends are a big influence over decisions. So, by allowing cross platform play it doesn't need to be explicitly said for theconsumer to know they would be able to play with friends with different systems.
Before Sony announced 10m sold I was telling another forum that sony still has shortages in the US. No, not the type that will stop you from being able to find one from walking into the store and picking one up. But the type that they are selling and retailers will have one on shelf before resupply. That is shortage and stock issues. And think about it, Sony sold 10m ps4s to customers at the beginning of August while only projecting 5m shipped at the end of march. That supports sell through b...
When are we going to stop using this site as a source? Their tracking is horrendous and the owners defense is embarrassing
I don't know who you are trying to fool. It's clear you never played TLoU and are trying to claim to own a ps4 to increase your credibility. However, that hardly ever works. It's evident you are a troll.
Can you imagine how fucking obnoxious it would be if the companions set off the enemies and it wouldn't be your fault. The game would be completely broken and unplayable. Making them invisible to enemies is necessary. Just think about how stupid the AI is in the game with the best AI. Now, think about the companions having that AI. Do you really want that if they were detectable to enemies? I sure wouldn't. So the companions AI is irrelevant.
My pudgy thumb accidentally clicked on agree instead of disagree. Must make note of this to correct the shame of making it seem like more people think this guy knows what he is talking about.
As for the comment at hand, I think you need to look up the definition of generic because I don't think it means what you think it means. Hardly any horror games released last gen so the genre wasn't generic. You couldn't get by TLoU playing it as a shooter so it wasn't g...
I don't know what to tell you if you can't tell the difference between acquiring a new IP (exact same premise as buying an office building, computers, or factory equipment. To which, no one would get upset over if any company did) and paying to exclude people from access to something. (which would be similar to Comcast buying AMC for the duration of the walking dead season so no other providers can show an episode)
Probably nothing to Activision. The deal probably involves sony taking up costs to market the game (hence exclusive marketing) which reduces the costs for Activision by millions. No company would pay someone to be allowed to spend money. That's just asinine. Which, anyone that says sony paid for Destiny content is saying.
I thought it was well know VGchartz doesn't really have any numbers. All they do is guess based off sales trends of previous consoles. Same method companies do to project payroll and sales a month in advance. Seriously, if they wanted to right now they could probably fill in the rest of the year worth of sales for every console... That would obviously ruin their gig. Hell, we know with certainty that they just rip japan's sales from famitsu and mediacreate.
Cryofsilence, they will sell 6m in 4th quarter alone. Probably another million till then. 17m. Only 5m more Max for your numbers when black Friday ps4 will sell about 20% that number in Us alone... Good luck with your prediction
Can we just stop using Vgc for any type of sales reference now? Seriously, the owner should just disband the site.
Well, yes. That is exactly what it is. However, it's a lot easier saying "price drop" than saying "the entry price for buying the XB1 is now lower than it was at launch." when anyone says price drop that's obviously what they mean. No use to argue semantics.
Holy shit, Konami reported 570k games of the metal gear franchise sold (for them this is shipped+digital since that's when Konami gets paid). This includes EVERY metal gear solid game. Not just ground zeroes(though GZ would take up large majority of that number). Vgc has more than that for ps4 version of the game alone at retail alone. They have all version at 1.46m at retail alone. They are probably close to 200% off on this game.
And another example to give us insight of how bad VGchartz tracking really is. 172k vs 747k is not 1:3. If they are off on xb1 numbers then they are 30% off. If they are off on PS4's number then 50% off. If they are both off then it would be a major coincidence that it'd be in the undertracking of xb1 and overtracking of the ps4 but VGchartz likes to claim 5-10% margin of error.... Well, add 10% on the XB1 version and you get 189k and subtract 10% from ps4 and you get 672k... Which is...
When official numbers support Vgc (read as "when vgc adjusts to fit official numbers") then, yes, it is 100% fact. And as of right now shipments are supporting ps4 making strides in sales. However, there are hardly ever official numbers for Software. So... Yeah... Vgc will be unreliable when talking about that ALWAYS (unless it's a rare occasion we got a shipment report like mk8, WD, or GTAV)
Gamerfan0909, it isn't exclusive. It's available on three platforms. Your comment is the equivalent of me saying no sports game reached x amount yet while talking about mlb the show and ignoring ps3/vita sales. Also, just because no game hasn't done it yet doesn't mean it wasn't expected to do more.
The only thing we get constant updates on is the hardware... Just look at how far off they were on 3ds sales last quarter and German sales... Now think how bad they are with software with absolutely no official numbers.
For the first week it tends to be two days. Xb1 actually would have been worse if it launched like a typical console
