"they don't like GTA"
Tell that to the 367k(ps3+360) people that bought GTAV first week in Japan. And the 77k people who bought the remaster on PS4 first week when it launched. The game sold well over 1m there.
CoD:MW3 sold 180k first week on Ps3 alone.
Halo is an exclusive to a console that is irrelevant there... but even then still managed to muster up 63k first week.
those are respect...
That's never happened before. Sales won't triple over night for xbox and in three years the gap will be so big and sales will be so slow that "closing the gap" will be negligible.
Gap won't close in the Oct -> Dec npd reports. Price cut >/= Halo. Cod&battlefield bundles > Tomb Raider and fallout bundles.
@battleaxe
That isn't at all why Ms is losing so bad. The countries they have been in from the start are where they were going to sell 90% of their units anyway (US is like 60% of their sales with UK being a hefty amount as well). Add in the fact that you take out every country but the originals xbox was in and ps4 is still handedly beating it.
That's not nearly how market saturation works. The market has x amount of potential buyers. Every ps4, wii u and xb1 sold grows closer to that x number. Every time ps4 sells more then it makes it that much more difficult for Ms and nintendo to sell more.
I had a friend who had a 360, traded it in for a ps3, traded that in for a wii, traded that in for a 360 then just sold the 360 and went to PC exclusive (he was always a PC guy). I always told him that he could have just kept all three consoles and the money he lost trading everything wasn't worth it.
Do yourself a favor, buy the Nathan Drake collection and play them in order.
Why do you think because they released one patch that they aren't working on other features? They have enough man power to work on multiple things at once. As for BC, get over it. It isn't coming. Ps4 can't emulate ps3 and they aren't putting the ps3 chip set into the ps4. It isn't even that important. I never played ps2 after ps3 came out
This was certain months ago. Only argument was with USA but I've thought we could close the books on that after January npd
Pointing out the lack of point in your post isn't sarcasm nor is it childish. If i knew that was the point you were trying to make then I would have glossed over the comment as there is nothing more to say. I was thinking you were highlighting that both companies were fined and thought you were assuming that included sony as a few others have tried to say... See... Making a point is important. People can't properly respond and have a discussion without one.
If they have then you're getting your information somewhere other than this article because there is no indication that sony has been fined either.
Yes, we can read and all agree that is in the article. Too bad you didn't explain what point you're trying to make.
It's very clear they aren't talking about sony and Ms. They are talking about Ms and their business partner.
@benchmark - if you are going to do a car analogy then at least do it right. If the xbox is an suv then the ps4 is the suv with leather and navigation. If the ps4 is a performance car then the xbox is one with less horsepower and torque. Ps4 is better. That's flat out fact. Preference might play a part in purchasing a system but you can't spin the facts.
@Moldiver
I think you have a different definition of lambasted than i do. I saw this game get lambasted from the start from trolls, media and the like. More negative than positive came from this gamefrom users. But hey, revisionist history, right? Hell, just look at all the, "I told you so" in this article alone.
It won't hit ps+. Just like knack (or driveclub) hasn't.
I agree with Emilio here. However, the reviewers set the tone early on. They pretty much chose the scores then. Even if the game didn't have some of the issues then I still can't see it scoring much better. So it would have gotten a 70 on metacritic then a 65. Whoopty doo.
I'm not sure what your point is so maybe I'm misinterpreting it. However, the difference between 15points and 45 points is rather large isn't it? Especially when the lower review score is dragging the average down more than the higher review score is bringing it up.
Bayonetta. Sold the vast majority in the bargain bins and barely (if at all) broke even. Sega pulled funding for the sequel. Too Human. Lair. Heavenly Sword never broke even. Drive Club. Mad World. Murdered soul suspect. Ryse
Probably at least a title a year flops and I can tell you those aren't sequels because there's a reason the sequel is being made.
The broken logic ocelot is trying to use is that because there are successful new ips often then th...
@babadivad
your analogy is so flawed and cringeworthy it's astonishing.
Is it surprising? no, not really.
Is it news? yeah, the health of a console in a major territory for games is news worthy. Even if its been known and seen a long time coming.
back to your analogy. It isn't like holding jugs that are different sizes and being surprised one is bigger at all.
It would be like having a finite amount of jugs (g...
