im guessing the ps4 won't be using the cell processor at all. why would they when faster alternatives are available? you wouldn't use the same graphics chip or the same type/ammount of ram would you?
lol good luck trying to get ps3 games to run on a ps4. they fucked themselves again just like the BC ps2 fiasco. the ps4 will probably be so vastly different in architecture that hardware might be required to bridge the gap just like the ps2/3 problem we have today. lol, just thank sony for making alien tech that won't integrate with future releases.
lol there was never a problem with BC itself they just decided to take it out to cut costs on the PS3 and be able to sell more ps2slims
i wouldn't suggest paying full price for singeleplayer games these days until it drops in price to $20-$40. multiplayer games are a different story with all the possible gameplay hours you get out of it. that's the exact reason i held off on GoW3 and picked up BF:BC2 instead.
this has been a problem for a few years. its getting way to expensive to create games nowadays with multiple platforms and the expectation to be the next modernwarfare. just look at all the money put into games that suck and never sell.

there was lots hype for MW2 when it came out, even RDR had lots of hype. i just don't see the same buzz with his game. its been 5 years since a real GT has been released and it seems most people have forgotten the racing genre.
the beta has shown me that the game won't be what i wanted at launch so im changing me pre-order to cataclysm instead.

that's why i picked up BF:BC2 instead of GoW3 earlier this year, I just held off a few months and now i can get GoW3 for $40 and i have been enjoying BC2 since launch.

its not like sony owns the rights to bluray itself, that's the Blu-Ray Disc Association. with technology like this with many parent companies like Sony, Matsushita, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung the idea is for the tech to be spread out, not horded.
so if MS did have a hand in R&D with blu-ray its not like they could stop any one company from using it, its up to the board to decide its use.

storage is the only difference, "blu-ray an actual hd format" is a lie because you can have a dvd with hd visuals and sound but not very much of it. just like you can't tell me a harddrive can't to hd video and sound.
