Don't you mean #807100092 ha ha...I've decided life's too short to get angry. Weekend is over. Back to work
Um nobody knew why? It was because of the high volumes of people trying to access LIVE at the same time. I guess bringing that up has made this situation better? Now that you've brought up an incident that happened 3 years ago psn is back online right?
Oh and what I gathered is that it wasn't a complete blackout like psn, most people didn't experience any problems
If its so entertaining, why were you just complaining about it?

Make up your mind bro.
Well go on then. What ya waiting for?
If only someone wasn't strapping you both down to chairs in front of your pc's and using toothpicks to keep your eyes open while sadistically clicking at every article that has psn news for you to read.
Oh, if only.
So in simple terms what you're saying is that because it happens all the time elsewhere, when it happens on psn nobody should report it or even talk about it? Got it. Would you feel the same way if say this was happening to you?
Yeah. The loss of revenue (psn store) over a busy holiday weekend usually doesn't bother anyone. Not to mention it being the most googled subject currently. Yeah all that negative press, that usually does nothing.
Wake up.
It is probably just speculation, however a reasonable person wouldn't dismiss it without consideration. SONY have lost 5 days of PSN revenue on a very busy holiday weekend, do you really believe that wouldn't factor at all in their share prices, at least for the time being? Come on man
@above and that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Come on man, stop being childish. What does microsoft's stock price have to do with THIS? Lets talk about Apple's stock price t...
I know I did.
However this is not the work of Anonymous, SONY shut down PSN because of hackers that were downloading games and dlc for free using a rebug CFW that pretty much allows your ps3 to appear to be a 'dev ps3'.
So technically the kids didn't do anything, the pirates just forced SONY's hand which is regrettable.
Wow. The fallout in this article is incredible lol
This is the kinda thing I hate. I'm being told more about the situation via rumour mills than by official SONY word.
They made it sound like the security update was to protect us but it seems the real reason they cut it was to cover their own behinds because people were downloading free games and dlc.
Now I'm not saying that they should have kept it up and continued to be pirated, but they should have been more forthcoming with this info. They shouldn't have pret...
Save yourself the headache. Do not click, read and/or comment
Portal 2 and Mortal kombat are ps3 exclusives these days? Don't be a jerk. At least they can play both those games and that beta ONLINE while I have wait to play my freaking Portal 2!
Truth time. If this were happening on Live, most would claim MS paid those people to say nice things...or that MS fanboys are blind to MS' mistakes
I don't want perks when this is over. I want up to date information from Sony now. Thats it, just a comprehensive update. I do not want to rely on rumours for info
You mean the same hackers we called talentless kids who can't do jack?
Lesson should be on both SONY and the fans. Do not underestimate anyone just because they are up against a multi billion dollar company. Even Goliath fell at David's stone. Yes Ddos attacks are hardly a big feat, but neither was a sling and small rock.
Ok first off, just because you worship SONY and the ground they walk on does not mean the rest of us have to join in.
Secondly, this machine i spend my life on? Yeah I PAID FOR IT. They did not donate it to, they did not gift it to me, I PAID FOR IT. I WORK hard for my money and I PAID for it so they do not deserve my respect simply because they made the darn thing.
Thirdly, do you know what it says on my Portal 2 that I PAID for boxart? That it has online play. Oh yeah, it ...
I bet psn will be busier than it ever has been after this. You don't know what you got till its gone they say.
PSN activity may even rival Live after this.
Funny though, the service that is free has less activity than the service that requires a fee. I guess people HAVE TO use live since they are paying for it
When this whole PS3 being hacked chatter began, alot of people including myself were in denial.
We didn't think it was going to get this serious or at least we were hoping it wouldn't. Same thing when anonymous made it to the scene. People called them a bunch of kids that did not know what they were doing. Now that the stuff has hit the fan, everybody is blaming them for bringing down psn even though we called them talentless kids.
That failoverflow security breach r...
That article is seriously in bad taste. IGN can be such . . . sometimes
