Carmack is a PC developer. The 360's architecture is similar to that of a PC's while the PS3 is extremely different. I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 version came out ahead for that fact alone. After all this is the first PS3 game Carmack is working on, hell it's the first game he has worked on in years.
Still /fingers crossed the game looks brilliant and runs great on every platform or ID Software will have hell to pay.
