Paying for Xbox live has benefits, why eles would i pay. Why do you think all xbox 360 games have some sort of online, and ushally its decent with exceptions to prey(but that had to do with gameplay). plus you get tons of features, from friends list to online achievements, achievements sound stupid but it really is satisfying when you get one. Halo and halo 2 were never known for bar setting graphics, but if thats how you felt about halo 1, and 2. If you read and watch a lot of interviews from bungie employees you will notice that they say the same thing all the time, they will say they have stayed true to halo art style. There not trying to make it look like real life. If you look at screens of halo 1 2 and then 3 you will notice that all the geometry and textures have improved through out, but the things like the colour choices ...

You do realize you just based that off 1 min of gamplay starting from the first spawn when nobody knows were anybody is yet or before some one can set up. Halo 2 is based around fast gamplay and tactics, but you odviously dont know that or havent played halo 2 for more than a hour so dont make dumb comments that are out of your element

I remmeber when i used only play ps2 and wanted nothing to do with xbox.... then i played halo 2 online at my friends house and two weeks later i went out and bought a crystal edition xbox ONLY for halo 2, and i think halo 3 will do the same thing to alot of people. And i still have my ps2 but the only game i bought for it since was god of war

You just reminded me of all those games and your right, i actually like them to. But i think i cant explain why i live halo so much, i just do. and dont get me wrong i used to be a battlefield fanatic(i made it all the way to a 5 star general ;). but i would play you in a game of halo over battlefield or counter strike or gears of war. halo just does this to people. i guess what i'm saying is its not like people are faking their affinity to this game, there is something that makes it better ...
Saying CS is the most user friendly FPS out there, I totally disagree with. Half the reason people love Halo's multiplayer so much is because it is so simple to use, you choose wether you want to play team slayer or team snipers(ect.) then you hit start, and it automaticlly matches you up with people who have the same skill level. Plus there is so much more depth to the whole experience i cant even explain.

-Doom 3 has great graphics, but Terrible multiplayer same with fear
-Unreal has no real campaign
-Half life 2 is a great game like halo
-cs and battlefield had no campaign let alone being decent
-And halo actually has a great story, theres been a bunch of novels to do with the halo universe
