Theres no way they would reinvent halo. All the people who buy halo buy it because there is no other fps that plays as well as halo. So to try and mess everything up just to appease the fraction of people who don't love halo would be a huge mistake.
Bungie has built tools that collect data on all the games being played and all the people playing it. these tools monitor things like lines of site when spawning, heat maps of action going on, and lots of data on how the network is performing. I think if you send them a saved film of a glitch you encounter they can look at the coding of that film or w/e to see what went wrong. They also pay lots of attention to the community, listening for issues and complaints with gameplay.
I say it takes about 3 years to complete a top notch game with an experienced studio.
I have stopped looking at them since they started becoming 8 pages or so. But I used to love opening the game on the way home and reading everything and then poping the game in as soon as I walked into the door.

Its not the same. It was ported to pc not by bungie... and it is fulllll of bugs, enough to actually make it unplayable.

Funny thing is... halo 2 was not supposed to be a cliffhanger ending. It was supposed to have the halo 3 ending with all the halo 3 missions. But They were running extremely low on time and the engine could not support all the content. All these other games wrote the cliffhanger ending in.
interesting how it was never said that halo 3 or odst was the last halo game bungie was making. We knew about reach even b4 odst came out. Ya halo 3 was the last halo game in the halo trilogy, does that not make sense to you

In short, Halo 1 proved it was possible to have a good fps on console. All fps now use a variation of halo's controls. Without it a fps feels terrible on a console.
