Yeah this is a special pet, it's meant to be rare, and it's a nod to the people who took the trouble to go to the event. Sure, it's frustrating as hell that the only way to currently get one is to buy the gift card off someone who did go to the WWI, but they wouldn't be a novelty if everyone could get one.
I was expecting it to be a lot worse, I'm happy now.
I actually think a brand new title would be good for Blizzard, it would bring in some new blood, rather than re-hashing old stuff. Whatever happens, it'll be good. Blizzard can't seem to fail at the moment, long may they rein! ;)

We don't know yet unfortunately, it goes live with patch 2.4.3 which will be sometime in the next month probably.
