Actually he said it would be free. And he hoped it would remain free in the future.
Meaning its free at launch but in time with more features it might become a payable service.
A console sold to play only "backups" is worse than on console sold at all. At least until they make money on the hardware.

If 360 gets the attachment that doesn't mean they can use it like on the PS3. It will only be for movies.
The reason why PS3's Blu-ray is better than the 360's DVD is because of the space for games. Playing HD movies is just a plus. Although its a big plus.
Of course it makes sense to make a price cut.
If you sell 2 times the PS3's you get way more in from the games sold than if you wanted to loose less on the console.

But I must say the controller motion sensor isn't half bad in the right games. Like 'Super Rub a duck'. Works 100% like it should there.
I Motorstorm on the other hand one will only use motion sensor to get some laughs.
Ive been playing the maps a couple of hours today.
Visually they are a higher standard that the older maps.
But I'm still a little bumped they didn't add some more new ideas.
The maps feels too much like the old maps. The only thing new is the krill and the gas.
Man I would have loved to have testet it out.

Think of the money it takes to make a map pack. If no one want to pay for it developers might not want to spend time on a game that is already selling well.
The format cant die. Even in the unlikely event that it looses the HD war the format will still be the standard on the PS3.
That has absolutely nothing to do with the movie war.
Yeah I'm sure nobody would have a problem with changing discs every time you drove to the other side of the city.
