Interesting point for Cod because I'm sure there are a number of gamers who feel the same way because it is easier. I think there are people who would enjoy a reason to actually feel pressured while playing though because I assume it is not more realistic to say that in an actually firefight you would never have to look away to pull out the computer that you use to call a killstreak. Luckily there is the pro controller so you have both options.

You want people to stop hating enjoy games and be a gamer, but you make a statement like if there is no Sony then you will quit gaming...Sony is awesome don't get me wrong but you can't enjoy games and be a gamer when you limit yourself to one company.

@mdkgod43 if you just built a new gaming rig and clearly your criteria for owning games is entirely based on it being outdated or not why do you even have a PS3/Vita or for that matter want a PS4? How is it that "casuals" are the ones pre-ordering the Wii U? I think you don't know who is who anymore cuz most of the people who drove the Wii to high sales don't even know this console exists yet. I will also being playing on my PC and laughing because I'm enjoying my games on any platform. If you don't know how to do that the industry is probably better off without you.
Dumb article. But I would love it if the speculations from reason 1 came true. An open world pokemon rpg and super smash with good enough online play would be more than enough reason for me to get the Wii U. The latter of course is much more probable because we know they are working on it, but the prior seems like much more of a stretch.

I hope split screen stays alive. Split is def good for co-op experiences and as for playing in the same room, and there are strides like the multiple screen play on Wii U (not perfected but there) are starting to make screen looking and screen distraction a thing of the past.

Sooo... nintendo should be more like sony? If you want 2 sony consoles buy 2 PS4's when they come out. I'd prefer each to be unique so I actually get to benefit from their competition and get a different experience on each.

I agree with you only in the sense that the next sony and maybe microsoft console will be very expensive. I`m skeptical because everyone is already boasting the power of the consoles, but acting like it will be under $500. I think in order for there to be a big enough difference in power to matter between the Wii U and the Nextbox and PS4 then MS and Sony will have to have a pretty heavy cost structure behind them. But since I really want to play all of these systems I really hope I am wrong....
I don`t know about that. I mean I love my titles with PS and Xbox but the thought of missing out on a New Super Smash (even though not announced we know it`s coming) with the possibility of good online multiplayer makes me die a little on the inside. But I guess it is up to you to decide if I am in my right mind or not...

There are a few problems with this article but the biggest is this same tired interpretation of the gaming market. There are so many people who constantly blab about "hardcore" and "casual" when they don't even have a clear depiction in their minds about what they mean by those labels. Any good market segmentation has to have a more clear understanding of who fits into those segments. I believe the market is currently way to complex to be pigeonholed into those two cat...
