Yeah they probably would have been better off calling it super wii like they do in Japan.
different and overlapping audiences
I would agree with you if the launch titles were the only games coming out for the Wii U in its lifetime
Oh I will deal with it all right. Especially when the new Smash Bros. comes out. I'm gonna deal with it all night long. And then when the next PS and Xbox join the fun? I'm gonna deal with it so hard even Kratos will wanna shield his eyes if you know what I mean :)
@Baka
I know it sounds redundant but your criticisms can also be criticized. When someone points out something wrong with your criticism, it should be heeded just like the original criticism to the subject itself. That's how civil debates work.
Nintendo, just like every company that has ever run a business, deserves criticism. But you call yourself an actual gamer based on what criterion? You just show that you don't understand the segments within the video game market at all. Whatever false sense of superiority you have developed over other people who play games is illogical. It is okay to have a preference, but you probably shouldn't speak for anyone but yourself.
Nintendo has been sitting on the goldmine that is a good 3D pokemon adventure since the N64(not saying that Stadium and Colosseum games were bad, but there is much more potential) . Now with proper online capabilities there is a greater hope for a literal game changer like that. The market is definitely there, I know for a fact they are looking at major sales with it, it just depends if Game Freak is up for doing it.
you'd be suprised
For your point on MS and Sony I think price point vs. what is offered is going to be the most important hurdle for them. It sounds like they might be able to launch at a reasonable price point and they will be more powerful in comparison to Wii U. Now there are rumors but until we here official statements it is all up in the air, and if they don't hit the right price point/differentiation from from Wii U combination the extra time the Wii U has could end up being a strong asset. Now of co...
What do the people who have already played it have to say (not the reviewers)? The criticisms seem sound, but luckily I always try things for myself first so I will def at least rent it. I hope that other rumor article is true because I would be all about a new Yoshi's Island type game.
This is funny because this gives all the people who didn't want one or were on the fence (or in a different country) the main opportunity to answer since many people who wanted one have already pre-ordered and are probably playing instead of checking articles on n4g. That being said I am getting one when I get back from Japan. That being said I also plan to get the other 2 when they come out so it's kind of a given for me.
Nothing was being stated as fact. He said it might be the most used in the next grouping of console and politely invited you to prove him wrong.
Exactly, Well said pygmelionhunter. There is not only one option out there and gamers who don't have the financial constriction are don't have to pick a side. Each console has a different experience where some may come down to the physical way you play the game while others just come down to exclusives. Just because each is different does not make it inferior as that is completely based on opinion. For example, Super Smash Bros. is my favorite game series. PASBR is a similar game that...
This guy does not deserve to be commended for raising good points when all he did was sum up other points that have been mentioned at least a dozen times in other places in addition to focusing mostly on the most miniscule point of the 3. Luckily we humans have this wonderful ability to adapt regardless of how long we have been working with a previous stimuli. But you probably are going to have to play it more than once to get used to it. This is a problem that is an initial one and not a lon...
Though I don't think all of the statements were accurate, one of those guys came up with a really smart implementation for the gamepad in mariokart within 30 min of playing with the thing. This obviously doesn't represent a demographic that would be considered "totally normal".
not sure what is "totally normal" about this group of people
@WiiUAlpha
Not quite sure what you mean... Differentiation in consoles is a good thing and that is what I was agreeing with. Wii U is doing that and I want the other 2 to do it as well. I think you may have misunderstood?
@millzy102
"of your a real 'hardcore gamer' then 1 system simply isn't enough"
"if all 3 systems are the same whitch people expect there is no point and there should only be 1 on market"
your words are so wise in my opinion. If you fix your spelling then it would be true beauty to read them
Good online will be good enough for me, but new characters, an even better single player campaign, better character balance, and maybe even some more character customization would be good things too.
I don't know about that. I definitely would say that the mobile devices are trimming market share, but it isn't so cut and dry. Almost half of the households (in America at least) have game consoles in their house, and out of those the average has two consoles and also has mobile devices with games too. Now the better those mobile games get, the more concern will be had, but for now at least they are more adding to what we already have than taking away from it.
