Yes that is a good option, but it sucks that it should even be thought about. Another example of a tiny minority messing up something good for everyone else. If the number of offenders stays low then moderation and banning can solve the problem, if those numbers balloon then it might not be worth the trouble and streaming function removed.
Yip, this is the most logical route. Although we have seen both Sony and MS kill features that could hurt their image. Sony pulled Linux support pretty early on in the PS3's life and MS have a famous 180 on a lot of XB1 "features".
Yip, i'm keeping my PS3 around just in case DS2 turns out to be old-gen exclusive. But then there's the same rumour about Demon's Souls.
Depends on how big a problem this becomes, Sony don't have the task force to deal with 40 million live users going berserk. Right now it's already making news and it's released in 1 region to a million customers. In 6 months it could be much bigger or not a problem at all. But Sony definitely don't want to be seen as a company supporting this kind of activity in any way.
Indeed the PS3 is far from dead, but time is an issue for most so once the PS4 comes a lot of backlogs will simply be left for dead. Could probably have a years worth of gaming from the PS3 still with games coming and my backlog.
I truly hope the rumours about Media Molecule working on a new IP for the PS4 is true, they really craft some beautiful games.
This is the definitive game of the PS3 IMO and ND are the developers of the 7th gen. Having a PS3 and not playing TLoU is a crime unto yourself.
Rough time being outside the NA PS4 release, seeing everyone else playing on the thing makes that extra month for some of us torture! Makes me want to stay off the internet lol. Happy to hear Resogun is good.
And this is my main concern, are they altering the game to push you in the MT direction. Other main concern is if this works out for them then what are they going to push on next? Guns, endings etc.
The concern for me is that while you can get them without paying, they are going to make it next to impossible to do to make you eventually give up and pay. Perhaps in a normal situation you would have had to grind for an hour or so, but now EA might push that up to 5 or 6 hours to deter people from even trying.
This is of course not a known quantity, just my fear.
The Dead Space franchise is in decline, Dead Space 2 didn't even sell 3 million. Current pre-orders are under 250,000 for the US and that's it's biggest market.
DS3 won't even get half the pre orders you state, and funny thing about that is pre-orders can be cancelled. Boycotting does work, if people actually do it, if not then well it's not boycotting is it?
Series in decline, so EA come up with one last way of milking the suckers. Who ar...
Never had the pleasure of getting into this series, might as well start now.
After Spiderman 3 (current-gen) i was really put off by Spidey games. It was a real let-down. And what's worse is the potential that's there for a great Spiderman game. As always it goes down to who's developing and if the publisher want's a real game or a cheap movie tie-in.
The trailer at the VGAs for the new game looked really good, but then trailers always do.
I think it's fair to assume that in today's gaming world "exclusive" (at least from the marketer's point of view) means 1 of the consoles regardless of it being on PC as well. As that still gives one console manufacturer a big-up over another. Exclusives only make sense when a dev is 1st party or when they have been paid a ton to be so. Valve could only gain if Sony are paying them.
Half-Life 2 didn't sell much on the original Xbox but it sold over 1...
I could seriously use this guide, it's insane how many games there are to get through at the moment and rushing kinda takes the fun away. Almost makes me hope that the next few months are very quiet release wise. On top of that i got into the StarHawk Beta which i'm loving!
I agree that it's over used in most cases, i like the way you have explained it.
Most people fit into all of those categories.
While i agree there are a lot of trolls out there, the fact is that BF3 would also get a lot of CoD trolls downvoting it, yet the PS3 version sits on 7.5 Metacritic User score, likewise Uncharted 3 would get lots of Xbox trolls but it's user score is 8.2 likewise Forza 4 would get a lot of Sony\GT5 trolls but it's user score is 8.
This is more than just trolls, i think people are really unhappy about the step sideways and not forward for the CoD series.
I'm sure it will pass 6 million lifetime sales which would be awesome for the franchise. They would be crazy not to continue the franchise well into the next gen even.
Really if you look at the few games that have passed the 10 million mark on the HD consoles it's a bit sad that games like U3 can't even get close.
The real question is if there is actual volume demand for Crash in the market why aren't Activision trying to take advantage of it. They have the luxury of targeting any and all platforms. Unless they are waiting for the easiest money of all which is to make a big money deal with Sony; who's focus is elsewhere at the moment.
