Never had any gripes with the DS3, but the DS4 is much better. The battery life is a bit disappointing. Would love the full sleep mode pause/resume like the Vita has. I guess that's coming and it's the thing i look forward to the most. Remote play is much better than i thought it would be so kudos to Sony for that as well.
Easily in my top 5 games from last generation. Brutal and fulfilling, Requiring skill, brains, patience and persistence.

The Vita version is going to be interesting. I would like to see details about porting characters over from the PS3 version or if there's any chance of cross-platform co-op play.
I guess it's just a situation of time and money making opportunity. Big effort to get the game out and then throw tons of DLC to halt the second hand market a bit and make money on said DLC. Then i guess they had some resources left to put out a pretty cool free app. I've been using it and it's pretty flawless.
I went through the PS1, PS2 and PS3 launch and i'm still as excited for the PS4 launch as i was for any of those. Setting it up was awesome and i must say well done to Sony the PS4 is a great piece of equipment, and some FW revisions will take care of the little issues i have with it. Pity MS think of South Africa as a 3rd (probably 6th) tier country. Still a long while before we get the new Xbox here.
A franchise that has 4 games over 10 million is a niche series? Not many exclusive games sell 10 million copies. Personally i hate the whole micro transactions thing but i don't think it hurt sales because not too many people even knew about it before launch.
Agreed, that's why i think it should have come a year into the PS4's life. Maybe even 6 months. Install base would be big enough and it's at a time when sales are over the initial launch. GT6 would have helped move consoles then. But if that happened the DC delay would have made things interesting.
Gt5 launched with a smaller PS3 install base and sold 5 times as many units in the same market. A one year delay for GT6 for PS4 would see the install base at over 10 million and at the perfect time to push consoles for Sony.
It will sell, but for a GT game it has to beat 9.5 million to avoid being the lowest seller. Not sure it will sell nearly that many.
Yeah as far as shows go; that's about as bad as it gets.

You have an infinite amount of retries in every game, the only difference is that in this one you don't have to wait through a loading screen. All other games you get a title screen saying you died, and then it reloads the chapter or section or right where you left off. This game just removes the stupidity that is a meaningless death system. If you died and the game locked down and you couldn't play anymore that would actually make more sense.
I loved it; though i did enjoy Sand of Time more this game is still right up there.

Agreed, the PS3 in the last few years has turned around and built great momentum for the Playstation brand leading into the PS4 launch. And is created some amazing new IPs.
The PS3 was great and for me a better generation than the PS2 thanks to the games. But the article is about sales. Sure it's early but the PS4 is going to be big.
I would definitely take a fully fleshed out SP space based RPG, as long as it had a heavy focus on space combat.
