I gotta say, in spite of how much I'm actually excited about the Xbox one... thats pretty impressive. MS hasn't really sold off, but Sony and Nintendo are having a hayday.
I think the market's response to E3 might be a bit different. But, we will have to see.

The whole "500,000 servers" thing is alluding to that. I think MS will go full hilt as far as MMOs & massive servers in the next gen. They are certainly investing in the infrastructure...

Ahhh yesss, just one more reason to be excited about Battlefield 4. I still play BF3 more than any other game... its just so much fun. The firefights can be so real. concrete flying, bullets wizzing, explosions, smoke, people dying everywhere... no other game causes me to grin wildly and say things like "ahhhwwyyeaaaaaaAAAAAA!!! !!"
Battlefield 4 + XBone = my social life draws to an end.
Im ready for it, personally. I'm always connected, anyways, so its not a big deal for me. Plus, there are sure to be merits to always being online.
All my other devices are connected, I have no problem with my Xbox being the same way.
Xbox Live will be incredible for it. Not to mention the as-of-yet unforeseeable and amazing things that Microsoft will be able to do in the realm of persistent-worlds with incredibly robust cloud slash server support.

Gaming is an expensive hobby. Some of us have the money/resources that will make the Xbox360 the ULTIMATE gaming console. XBL is already looking leagues better then PSO, not to mention the media/apps/dash/tv/multiproces sing POW...
When we see the games, and what developers have been abel to do with the improved capabilities of both Xbox Live, Kinect, and the Xbox controller, everyone will be impressed.
Add that to all the amazing capabilities of the dash, apps, and media, coupled with instant switching and always-on matchmaking, I think its going to be the perfect console for me. But, I am the type of person who will be watching netflix, then switch to gaming, then back to netflix, all the while being ...

The reveal was not about games. That was pretty clear. Don Mattrick said it himself before and after the event.
The reveal was hard to swallow for gamers, but I think after E3 everybody will be much more at ease. It's going to be a great show, and we will finally fully understand what both Sony and Microsoft are bringing to the table.

Besides, the XBone's dash/app/media features are insane. Not to mention instant switching between applications and games, constant matchmaking, and epic server support.
Persistent world MMOFPS is about to be redefined. Finally we will see games on the same scale as Huxley fully realized.
