Actually, gamers you do use the game consoles to game on won't face any hurdle regarding PSN Plus as well. Casual gamers, yeah, who would buy the console just because it is a new device on the market.
I'm from the Middle East and the dedicated gaming following here is respectable. I will be getting PSN Plus with my eyes closed. The problem would've been if PSN Plus would only be offering MP and nothing else, but PSN Plus is a superb service which offers free games...

Killzone 2 was by first current-gen experience as I was LTTP. And I still don't regret the decision to start the gen with Killzone 2 :D
Despite what others say, Metal Gear Solid 4 still to this date looks as good of a game as any released recently or in the last year.
It was a perfect fan service which tied up all the loose ends.

FF has always been released first in Japan. The games released were on on good install base.

Hence that is what is being said in that sense. What is being said is that the consoles which saw the FF release had a good install base of over 4 million.
Mega Man Legends was really a great series. It's a shame CapCom owns the trademark/rights for it.
With the recent success of Mighty No.9's kickstarter, it would be no doubt that if Keiji thinks of starting a spiritual successor series to Mega Man Legends, it will end up successful as well on Kickstarter.

The speculation is based on the install base of the consoles, Japan is seeing the launch of PS4 and Xbox One later than NA and EU release.
FF titles have always landed in Japan first. And with the data collected, FF titles have landed on a good install base.
Square Enix COULD change their strategies but based on what is known so far, this speculation was based upon the previous history.
Versus XIII was also showed at E3 2006. Where did it end up? Skipped a whole generation.
I think Microsoft got their PS4 pre-orders early and started stress testing it by putting it through rigorous and ridiculous tests.
