@Paleblood you and me both. Nintendo ruled all, up until the point Sony came in and showed the world that video games could be mature and mainstream.
Son, I've been gaming since MAGNAVOX was still designing consoles. Are you REALLY questioning Sony's contribution to the video games industry?! All caps for truth: SONY SHOWED THE WORLD THAT VIDEO GAMES WEREN'T JUST FOR KIDS AND UBER-NERDS. SONY MADE VIDEO GAMING MAINSTREAM.
Edit: For better or worse.
Sigh, you do realize "the competition" has more games than the Xbox right? You also do realize that "the competition" has a more powerful console that in turn helps guarantee better looking multi-plays right? And finally, you do realize that "the competition" has MORE FIRST PARTY STUDIOS right? In fact, I'm pretty sure that's why "the competition" is dominating in sales. Last question: how exactly do people "play games not sales"?
PS4 continues to dominate?! Bu-bu-but I thought the cloud powerz would change all that? What happened guys? Wait...what's that? Is that the sound of some fanboys getting ready to move some goal posts?
The. Damage. Control. Is. Real.
Alright people, leave MS's ad agency alone. Poor guys have a tough job trying to generate false hype to convince the masses that the Xbone is worth a purchase. Get back to work Starcom! Go pay some small web-site to talk about "the cloud powerz" or something.
@hit what the?! I'm assuming there's some semblance of a point in their somewhere.
OT: Fun read. I've been saying it for a while, but I'll say it again: barring some horribly strange and anomalous mistake on Sony's part, the PS4 WILL WIN THIS GEN. In fact, it's no longer a battle for first between Sony and MS. It's a battle for second place between MS and Nintendo. Better get your "secret cloud power sauce" ready MS. You're gonna nee...
Don't worry MS fans, your "clouds" and your "secret sauce " will turn things around. Right?
OT: Sony is going to keep dominating because Sony puts out the best selection of quality games, period. Sony also doesn't heavily rely on gimmicks and pr to sell consoles.
And the best part? This game was free with my PS Plus sub.
Backwards compatibility?! Let's add that to the long list of things MS fans swore would win the console war for Microsoft. Let's check the list shall we(in no particular order):
Kinect
Ryse
Titanfall
Halo MCC
E3
Gamescom
Price reductions
EA Access
Cloud Powerz
Secret Sauce
And now...Backwards compatibility.
Yup. These are all things MS's cheerleaders were overhyping, saying it...
It's no longer a battle for first place between Sony and MS. It's a battle for second place between Nintendo and MS. Fact!
Edit: Disagree all you want, but the graph and the numbers don't lie. That's the fun thing about FACTS, they're true whether you believe it or not.
That's right, it's the media's fault the PS4 is cheaper and more powerful. It's also the media's fault the Sony has more games than MS. BTW, care to show exactly how the media is on Sony's side?
Imaginary cloud power matters...to xbox owners.
@etownoe Lol. So let me get this straight...sales matter? Or do they only matter when you say so? I wish you guys would make up your minds. If we are doing the "sales matter" thing then remember: MS is losing...terribly.
Lol. You do realize PS4 leads in terms of software sales too right? Let me spell that out for you: more people are buying more games on the PS4 than on any other console. Try to let that sink in.
Septic is just upset, because he's slowly starting to realize that the "cloud powers" he so desperately wants to believe in is nothing more than an over-used PR phrase that's being used to overhype games. He's upset because he's also realizing that the Crackdown 3 demo only excited Xbox fanboys, while everyone else continued to purchase PS4. Poor Septic, he's gonna spend the rest of this gen waiting for the day MS vindicates his belief in the clouds.
<...
Yeah, the Xbox comeback is now contingent on Crackdown 3's multiplayer. You know your console of choice is in trouble when your only hope is ONE feature in a multiplayer mode in ONE game that won't even be out for a year. That's cloud power for you.
From the article: "Of course, with the online element reliant on server-support, many people with slower internet connections are worried that their experience might suffer, but according to the game's creative director, they're aware of this and are working to make sure it's not an issue.
'We fully realise, you know, we're optimising for that, we realise that people have a certain download speed, and that we have to be within those kinds of boundaries. So we ...
@rookie monster ROFL! You're cloud power is PATHETIC! ONE game with mediocre graphics, textures, and animations, that WON'T be released for OVER a year gets complete destruction in multiplayer mode ONLY and that's the big deal?! Have fun waiting for that. In the meantime, the rest of us will continue gaming on the more powerful AND popular gaming console. The very same console that has more higher rated games and more console exclusive games.
Watch Dogs. *shudders*
Magnavox Odessey.
Got you guys beat by a few years.
