So? What's wrong with that? If people have had great experiences playing games from a certain developer, it's not that strange if they automatically have good associations with that name. As in; expect to be entertained by the product, and therefore buy it.
Even if Rockstar has had little to do with L.A Noire, just the fact that they 'have' seems reason enough(too me) to keep an eye out for it :)

But, this review feels misleading and sounds very forced with sentences like
"I wouldn’t have kept playing the game after the first 5 minutes if I hadn’t had to for the review"
Granted this game is not everybody's cup of tea, but the reviewer makes it sound like a you're playing a history lesson with poor controls.
Which is very hard to take seriously when the reviewer seems to expect modern warfare fps controls, and rts HUD....
If it's anything like Demon's Souls, but an improved version.
