The first multitasking operating system released 41 years ago in 1969.
last time I checked MS operating systems didn't start multitasking till Windows 95 and not properly till service pack 1.
I know it is hard to comprehend, but MS did not really innovate (invent) much at all.
by removing manuals, fine. if the savings only effect their profit margin and I am still paying full boat for the game, no! give me my full package...manual and all.
the Emperor's new clothes around here. People think that they are really "sticking it to you" when they say that about you.
(Frankly, you are totally right, it is a stupid word and it seems like something elementary school kids call each other so they don't get in trouble with their teachers or Parents.)
20 million or so laying around to replace all the broken ones!
Lighten up! it's a joke!
It is like a corolla with a 1 speed transmission. sure, it gets the job done but, you will always feel there is something missing. :P
the Wii cannot do it all, if you like lite platformers and mindless games with simple graphics, that is great for you. you can own just the Wii and be happy. I like games like that myself sometimes, but I also like games with a good story. I don't want to collect stinkin' stars and jump on mushrooms in every game. Living under the cotton candy waterfall wondering if the lollypop princess needs a' rescuin' again was fine when I was 10years old but it gets a little boring after the twentieth ve...
when it comes to most diners served. just because something is cheap and accessible doesn't make it better.
And I am not only talking about "graphics".
the Wii just doesn't have the umph to create games that are heavily story based, compelling and immersive. and NO, mario and zelda are not immersive games. it excels at platformers and the casual.
no Heavy rain or Alan Wake (or mass effect if you are going to be a dill weed about it) kind of games on t...
I will give you one thing though, they made the motion controls the main input on the Wii, forcing developers to create games around them. but, that is where the innovative thinking ends on the hardware side. the main way they have innovated, as I have said, is in their marketing of the console. the so called "me too" devices that are coming from MS and Sony are those companies way of trying to attract the "Concerned Parents" that bought the Wii that there is a library of ...
alot of people buy them because they are cheap and are marketed to parents as a "simple", safe and "wholesome" console in a sea of blood, guts and filth. that the whole family can play without too much difficulty.
It is interesting that Nintendo took advantage of the "Concerned Parent" demographic in their advertising. dodging the bullet that the 360 and PS3 contend with continuously.
Look at politicians, they tell people that they need ...
that is what I feel, If I recall allot of games have a list of "features" and one of those features is multiplayer.
I buy a game for the single player experience, the immersion into the story. a proper game should pull you in like a really good book. Multiplayer is a fun addition but, not nearly as immersive.
ha,ha? :/
I LIKE single player, I like an interesting story with puzzles and tasks. to me it is more entertaining than just being thrown into an online game, pick a side and fight. there is no drama or developed story.
I will never pay for a demo, unless, maybe if you get what you paid for it off the full retail package...maybe.
Just say what it is, To cut costs, we are eliminating the manual from the game package. because if they do something like provide a PDF on the disc or an online download of the manual, people are just going to print it out to read and use while they are playing. kind of defeats the purpose of "saving the environment" if people are doing that.
Jaffe: I was sitting at a red light today and thought about making a "sequel". now, don't ask me what the "sequel" will be, I am not allowed to tell you. let's just say that it might or might not have a clown in it, maybe
involve police and robbers...or not. and will possibly have something to do with arcane mythology but, it probably won't.
meh...
you posted a story about him and put a picture of Ken Levine doing his superman pose instead of him at the top.

(heck! if I wrote articles for a gaming news site I would always do that for Jaffe news!) :P
He really needs to make up his mind, is he all for the consumer and a "real" gamer? or is he a soulless developer that is only in it for the money?
is any better? blah...
shouldn't that read console franchises?
and even that is wrong seeing that they left out a ton of great console franchises as well.
