The current gen psp, yes it is doomed like all handheld and consoles it will last for a number of yrs, then be replaced by a new generation. The pspgo is not the psp2, think of it as the psx(ps2), it was probably an experiment to see how well the gaming public would respond to an all digital game system.
I fully expect the psp2 to have some similarities to the go, however i don't think it will be digital only.

@10 consoles with a closed system running hardware that is 2 or 3+ generations behind equivalent pc tech, can't match up against a open system that can have $2k+ of the newest memory, gpus and cpus, in a resolution and textures.

@alpha Actually you will die from grenade spam/everyone on the enemy squad tossing nades out at your compound at times, but that is usually on a sabotage map, and 3 or 4 guys at a resupply point can spam the hell out of grenades.
Grenades have to be accurate to kill, not exactly i have killed and been killed by random ass grenades plenty of times, i think that's actually what the guy was referring to when he said grenade spam.

@2.1 Actually the 360 is lacking one other vital thing, and that is custom engines built from the ground up, tailored to exploit the strengths that the 360 has.

I have to agree with several of the sceptics post, a port of l4d 1 or 2 at 49.99 or 59.99 for a year or 2 old simple and repetitive game that looks dated i'll pass. If valve starts making ps3 games fine, but we aren't exactly hurting for shooters atm.

They will probably have to do what bungie did and build it from the ground up, cod's engine needed it's replacement on the drawing board, even before this sh^tstorm happened, it's been around for a while.

@1.16 The 360 is only holding its own with multiplatforms game, but when it comes to exclusives the 360 is way behind atm, even alot of multiplatform games get trampled going up against some the ps3's exclusives.
And let me correct your statement for you, blu ray is not needed if you are a 360 only gamer or you only play multiplatform games.

Sorry but a hard copy will always be an option, whether it be a optical disc or flash based, so 2019-2024 will be that last of the consoles, sorry but as long as we still have advancements in pc hardware and software, i doubt well will see consoles go away, entirely.
