yeah, both of the prime games kicked ass. graphically, they rival the best of any other previous gen console. The Game play was great as well. what were you expecting out of those two games that would have disappointed you so much? I'm sure you have played them, correct?

jesus christ. what is it with all the hate on this site? look. i have a very nice desktop pc but i also own a macbook (which i'm typing on right now). originally i would not have purchased the mac, but due to being a digital art major, a lot of the programs i'm required to use and have been trained on at my college are mac only (final cut pro for example). I used to hate macs, but i ended up buying this laptop last winter and i freekin love it. it has been so useful. its a very nice computer ...

I've been watching quite a bit StarTrek TNG lately and i couldn't agree with you more. i want one of those! thats the future of "casual gaming," Holo-Decks!

so what if the wii's graphics are not as well tuned as the PS3 $ 360? That does not mean wii games are less enjoyable. on the contrary, i've had a lot of actual quality fun with the wii- that seems to be its greatest selling point. also, i frequently play games on previous generation consoles as well and have no issue with most games about there comparative lack of graphics to more current systems.
I agree that graphics can add much to the ascetics to a game that already has great game...

just because someone is willing to spend $400-$600 on a HD game console doesn't mean that they have the cash to spend on a $1000-$3000 tv to fully appreciate it.

I've actually spent alot of time on many of my wii games. 50+ hours on zelda (the most at this point), but i've also played the hell out of excite truck, trauma center, wii sports, red steel, far cry, and oh yeah, the 40+ hours i've clocked into super paper mario (not to mention the time I've put into the VC games).

but dont get me wrong. i have let my wii collect dust from time to time. lately I've been playing through kingdom hearts 2 and MGS3. i don't sit down and play the ...

I highly agree. i think that this will benefit everyone from this sense of competition; for it can only breed more ingenuity and further games as a whole.

and how long have those systems been out? the wii is still only in its birth year with two months to go. pretty impressive if you ask me. welcome back nintendo.
i think that the 360 will gain back some ground this holiday season because of its wonderful line up (i know i'm going to to help them out by buying one soon), but in the end i think that the wii sales will continue to surge without the dependence of FPS games as its main menu.

at least with the update passwords come up as "*****" so i dont have close my curtains every time i enter my credit info to buy vc games. and with the key board, which i dont think i'll need much considering i do most of my internet stuff on my laptop, an attentive person wont watch which buttons i'm selecting.
regardless, i'm glad that nintendo is still finding new ways to improve the wii. i hope in the future that they will add the possibility of new skins for the display a...

yeah, the resident evil dogs thing was the first one that came to my mind. jeezz, i think it was the controls that were so different at the time and i was not used to them, having those two jump out of a window at me was not what i was expecting.
i also agree with the FFVII thing, damn, good moment in gaming.

its been a while, but i remember the ending of metal gear solid for the PS1 was pretty intense, finding about the whole genome clone thing with liquid and everyone...

I spent about 50 hours on Twilight Princess, and had a blast. Red Steel did have some jumpy controls, but it showed promise considering it was the first FPS launch game. In time, when more developers get the hang of the wii, better quality FPS games are sure to come. And although I strongly believe metroid Prime is not a FPS, its a first person adventure game damnit, other developers will use this as an example to learn from.
Besides that, Super Paper Mario kicked ass. Trauma Center wa...

well, I'm about 2/3 the way through MGS3 right now and last night i watched that 15 minute in game demo about three times now. damn. no, i am truly blown away. that game looked great. just the range of Snakes actions included in this one, wow. and the visuals were lovely as well. i kind of wish that they would tone down the perve factor, ala sexy-many paged books, but I'm sure a lot of you out there probably are excited for it. regardless, i cant wait for this one either.

I agree, but "Quantity doesn't always equal Quality", goes for all systems, not just the wii. Just as the wii will have its own games built upon its own control methods, PS3 & the 360 will also have its flow of crap filler games. these types of games make up much of many consoles resumes. Time will tell who will end up with the most quality games that will be exclusive.
but in the end, i think that the wii will most often have the most exclusive games because its exclusi...

i think he needs to take some art history lessons, or at least a modern digital art class. has he even heard about art as an interactive medium? one the largest new pushes in the art world is the introduction of artistic programming- like flash action script. I dunno, as an artist, i have always felt that video games are a new art form. and as time will tell, when more and more artists take to creating video games themselves, this industry will evolve to be much more than simply "point a...

yeah, i'm a great big potter fan and sure enough, not only did i have the wii version of this game reserved for launch day, but i was also the first dementor in Eugene OR to pick up book 7 on release night.

this game is pretty good though. Its by far the best game in the series (although I haven't played any of the sorcerers stone or the chamber of secrets games) but i thought that the Prisoner of Azkaban game (the x-box, ps2, and Game Cube one) was a great start in the right d...

seems like you have to spend a lot of money on things for your 360. dont get me wrong, i understand. but as far as attach rates are concerned , lets see, for my wii i have purchased:
Wii: $250
extra wii-mote & nunchuck: $60
games: 8 X $50 = $400
Component cables: $20
Dual charging station: $30
wii-mote grip sleves: meh, like $10
and i think at this point i've downloaded too many VC games too, but its just so easy when you have some extra c...

just because Nintendo's target audience has shifted doesn't mean that it is bad for gamers in general, or the industry. thus far, this time around ,Nintendo has brought in more new gamers than any other and will continue to do so. in the end i think that even if a quarter of these new gamers really get into gaming enough to expand to new consoles with more traditional approaches to gaming, thats going to be a hell of a lot more sales for Sony & Microsoft down the road.

Inno...

considering that for every individual Wii system that nintendo sells they're actually making a profit because it costs them less to produce it than what they are selling it at. and then there is the PS3 and the 360 both of which actually loose money for every one of there systems sold because of their high production costs. eventually i'm sure that both of these company's will make their cash back with software sales from titles like Halo & Killzone2, but even with only a million units be...
