I do not understand the difference. Before late into the PS3 Sony did not allow indies to self publish, THEY CHANGED THEIR POLICY. Even Nintendo did not allow Self Publishing until now. So now all of the console makers are allowing self publishing and they have all changed their existing policy.

Interesting enough, MS gained 6 billion more this year then last year. All of their major divisions increase profits and Revenue and people keep saying they are in decline. MS had to pay for the Surface, is this the first time MS had to write off a product that that did not do well. Its more impressive that they can take a 900 mill write off and still produce revenue and profits more than the previous year.

What people should do is go back to the E3 articles and read exactly what MS actually stated about the cloud. They never stated it would boost graphics. They have always stated that it will help to offload any processing that does not need to be immediate.

Maybe its me but it seems a lot of you are missing the point. Can someone who owns a small business use a laptop within a boardroom full of people and do a video conference to another company with people within a boardroom.

Personally I would rather add an additional drive then have to swap out a drive. Why lose my 500GB to swap in a 1TB, when it would be better to keep my 500GB and then add another 1TB

MS Azure platform runs whole companies, Its Pixar rendering farm for those great looking movies you enjoy. I believe Sony has a long way to go before they are even considered in the space where MS is at. MS cloud platform competes with Amazon and Google, Sony isn't even considered a player.

Sony said the console does not require an internet connection but its up to publishers if they want to implement online checks. People need to read carefully exactly what Sony said and did not say.

Also MS has stated that MS game studios will allow games to be resold, gifted and traded so at least everyone knows how MS games will go on the console.
Most product demos will not show the latest and greatest software but will show older builds that are stable. I know when my company presents demos for customers we always use a build that has gone through the fire since its the one most likely to blow up on you.

The marketing Budget was set at 500 million. The does not mean that MS spent 500 million. I here people make this statement all of the time which is incorrect.
The PS3 does not have an infrared sensor. The PSEye does not use any type of depth sensor. MS is using the "Time of Flight" method which is described within this article.

People forget that MS stated that consumers will be able to sell and trade their games. MS has to include this in order to sell there console in Europe. Also GameStop CEO also stated that used games sells will be supported by both Sony and MS. So what do you lose with the xbone then current day system. It probably be like steam where you can gift a game to one person, trade the game or sell it with an activation code.
In order for Sony to let publishers go this route then they would have to have DRM in place. Sony says that there console does not always have to be connected but its what they did not say that's the key. They never said that there will not be a online check for games that require it. People forget that it was Sony that included an online pass with there games and not MS.
I am guessing that MS want to trickle info going up to release which is much better than spilling your load to early. With positive talk going to release, it will make people think about getting the X1 at the time you want them to which is when the console release.
