PS Now require you to have a SONY product. Not really seeing your point. PS Now is a paid service no matter how you spin it while BC for X1 is not. The difference in scope is pretty big.

What exactly does creating new IPs have anything to do with adding new features to the PS4. Its not like the two comflict with each other as one would be internal OS developers and the other would be gaming studios. Just because you might feel that the current games on the console is enough, I am sure there are a lot of PS3 gamers who still would like to play their games they invested money on and remove another device under the TV.

Its kind of hard to believe that something that makes a lot of money for Sony and developers get shutdown. Money making products do not get shutdown. I believe you all are believing the service made money but lets be honest, if it did, it would be on the PS4 or it would continue to run on the PS3.

I have no clue on the revenue or profit Sony made with home but a clear picture that it did not make Sony at least any money is the fact they have shut it down.

There was never a parity clause for retail games. People continue to get confused about the parity clause. First, the parity clause was only on XBLA games. The clause stated that if a game is made on another system first and then ported to XBLA it had to have the exact same content.

I am not sure if people understand but we have seen cloud based gaming on a number of occasions with MMOs on the PC. Running servers to host an instance of a game and then supply multiple users access to content streamed over the net like AI, Physics all synced to multiple clients. People asked for an example and you have had it for years. The difference is that MS is giving developers dedicated servers for free or at a very high discount. This allows the developers to host an instance of...

You do know that the cloud has been making games better for years on the PC. Your basic MMO is a cloud based platform. It spawns up hosted instances of games and do calculations online and stream them to all parties. It keeps all parties in sync including physics and AI. The only difference that MS is doing which cloud based gaming has been doing for years is bring the tech to the console. There is nothing MS is really doing that is not already proven tech that has been running for years...

Its called the cloud because the technology being used is cloud based. In other words its just not dedicated servers but instead a cloud infrastructure called PaaS. Please look it up and understand what it does. The problem with most people trying to understand why MS calls it the cloud is because they do not understand the technology. It would take to long to describe what PaaS is and why its not just dedicated servers but you can easily get that info online.

It was 4 times as powerful but I guess when you are making a statement, the bigger the number the better right..

Maybe I m missing something but Sony has closed down about 4 studios in the last couple of years. On the other hand MS has opened about the same number of studios. If anything Sony does not take a loss for long and will close down studios that are dragging down the bottom line. Actually the whole article is a joke. Sony is not a charity just like many have already siad. Sony has and will close down studios that are not performing which I guess this article forgot to mention.

The only problem I see with what Bungie is doing is that having such a long time for exclusive content. Basically for people who purchased Destiny on the PC and X1 they would feel shafted and probably will lose some sales. Its interesting that Bungie doesn't have any exclusive content for MS fans. I am sure MS would have pony up the money so in order for that to happen Sony must have locked out MS by offering Activision or Bungie money to not make exclusive content for MS platform.

Am I missing something. This parity clause only comes into play if you accept MS giving you 2 dev kits, Unity and Unreal license. In other words you get to keep your stuff that is a cost to MS as a business and they ask that you release your game at the same time you would release on any other console.

I really do not see a problem here. If you want to release on the X1 last then do not accept the things MS is giving for the program and just release your game. You purchas...

Man the reading comprehension in this thread is really bad. I guess if you really want to believe something, you can turn a simple comment from a dev stating they had to rewrite code going from the 360 to the X1 since the platform is totally different.

The bad part is most people cannot tell the difference between the article opinion bias compared to what the developer is actually making. This is such a non issue that its funny. I guess if you want to expose the bias of pe...

When people are so caught up in a corporation that they are willing to dismiss something they would torched the competition for is really sad. If the article is true and Sony is only releasing 10 units and calling it a release, its a sad piece of business.

When people compare graphics do they also compare environments. Scope in a game makes just as much difference than just Eye candy. Case in point would be Killzone SF and BattleField 4. People talk about how good Killzone looks over BF4 but forget the scope of the 2 games. Another thing people forget is the ability of developers. When you have multiplats you see what can be done in a limited time between both systems.

If you are in it for the games then either console will deliver. If this rumor ends up being true, the fallout will be against the fanboys which is what you see a lot on these forums

Did most of you actually read the article. It states there is a NDA until Sept 29 when AMD release this info. Also this is a very old rumor that seems to keep staying alive. This rumor has been in circulation since the beginning of this year.

If your internal HDD is going out, copy the stuff to your fat exteranl. Problem solved. Probably would still need a new internal HDD but probably would not be all that expensive to fix.

4597d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

This is not true. People need to check their facts before making statements. MS already stated that you can install ANYTHING on external drives hooked up to the X1 including game installs and digital game downloads.

Its crazy when people defend stuff for the X1 that does not make sense and its just as bad when people do the same for Sony. Sony solution means you lose 500GB drive when upgrading. Its ok but definitely not better than being able to keep that 500GB and just e...

People keep saying you can switch to a bigger HDD but why would I want to. Why throw away 500GB to upgrade to a bigger drive when adding any size USB3 HDD would be a much better option. Its not that what Sony is doing is bad, its just inefficient and wasteful.

You find out about a eco system when you read comments when a billion dollar company feels the need to throw pot shots at the competition instead of promoting their own stuff.

I have always thought when you are on top you pretty much do not give any free pub to your competition. Instead you reinforce your position by showcasing your better product. When a company starts to make pot shots at the competition, it shows lack of confidence in their own product. Its a defensive ...
