heat can definitely be an issue but outside factors contribute too. I was using my PS3 yesterday in a 32 degrees C room. It was on for approximately 9 hours non stop as I downloaded some files, watched a movie, and then played online with a friend.
The air coming out of the back could have grilled a chicken but the gameplay never suffered for a second.

Not saying they don't over heat but that's damn good going in my eyes

yup, the old OS is pushed off and the new one is stored, besides its save on board based flash memory, not your hard drive

personally the only things I find "tight" about Kinect are the embargo's surrounding it and the marketing.

actually blu-ray is selling at a better rate than DVD at the same point in its lifecycle. You cant compare DVD now to Blu-Ray now. (Which appears to be what you are attempting to do by saying it hasn't taken off. By the way, how would you rate digital downloads?)

the price of new technology is usually prohibitive to the mass markets, this is not new nor is it shocking.

If 3D doesn't interest you now because of price then you are a potential future customer now when it hits the sweet spot.

Early adopters pay a premium for products, which in turn aids development of new technologies.

It is foolish to dismiss a tech based on price factor alone, not calling you personally foolish, just this approach. ...

Perhaps the display was built to ensure that people stood the right distance away?

It looks pretty minimal to me so that's my assumption.

Food for thought anyway.

But i applaud your wait and see attitude, best bet

Edit: Ah bum, Parapraxis wrote summat first. That'll teach me to read comments first ;)

I'm 13 hours in and it's a blast. It actually has all the features you expect, plus it has retained the Kojima quirkiness.

So wanting to love Rising, just can't bring myself to from what I've seen/heard so far

you're right, it will be the best MGS on 360, because it has all of...what, no other games in the series to compete with.

Apparently you can...
It's

£34.99 for Move
£24.99 for a navigation controller
and
£24.99 for a PSEye

Getting the gaming experience you wanted on 8/12/06 on 15/09/10?
Priceless

For everything else there's Wii/Kinect... I mean Mastercard

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Eyetoy and Natal excited me, its just, well, it doesn't look like it works.

"MS =/= Turn 10."

You are quite right, however you surely must concede that as a first party developer Turn 10 are extremely likely to have been influenced by Microsoft's approach to the industry, knowing that they are safe from reprisal as they are merely echoing their employers sentiments.

Had MS disagreed with this policy then they would have corrected Turn 10 after the GT5 mud flinging.

Btw, I work in a school, and when the...

The sad fact is that Microsoft's bullish attitude is what has put them where they are today, it has made the gullible believe, hence they won't stop any time soon.

HDMI is not needed, Blu-ray is not needed, Live is head and shoulders above PSN; these are all examples (not direct quotes Google lovers), of how MS have managed to convince the less technically savvy and forward looking into believing that extra technology is actually a bad thing.

1st we saw it compensate for us slow brained gamers and get the lightsabers rolling to tell us when to get ready. Now we have it accounting for the fact that were lazy as well as slow.

Thanks MS for a shot of self esteem in the arm during these hard times.

and nothing will make me get rid of my copy of Metal Gear Solid (nor the back up copy, already worn out one).

I have it on disc twice, and on PSN download. I play it at least once a year from start to finish, including cutscenes and many extra codec convo's.

I think it is an amazing experience that still holds up well today, but were you to offer me the same gameplay, story and cutscenes (Twin Snakes re-imagining was bullshit) would I take it?
