I actually find it depressing that the two countries who seem to accept product failure the most are the US and UK.

Being a UK resident I despair at the lack of even considering questioning news items that the general populace seems to have developed over recent years.

"And MOVE could be the next Betamax"

Sadly you may be right, and yet MOVE shares the attributes with Betamax of being better than it's nearest rivals, widely praised and used in the industry, and long-lasting.

Luckily it doesn't share the trait of 'late to market'.
That's why Blu-Ray launched as an unfinished spec, Sony were sick of having the better format and being out of the running before lea...

Probably because it'll use extra bandwidth when it keeps pinging the server. Not a defence though, but to be honest, saving a button press and a 10 second wait every time I finish a game isn't worth my money.

The long load times are due to the way the engine works and are just something that while able to be refined, you are just going to have to accept.

I cannot find the link at the present time but it was my understanding that the game engine, custom tracks being the reason and rhyme for this, actually lists each object as an instruction; an ID #, and X, Y. and Z coordinates. Then upon selection of a track it renders what is necessary from disc/HDD.

I believe th...

Toy story 3 in 3D is superbly done.

Hmmm holding shift for a capital D and getting a £ from being late with the 3. Maybe this happened and the movie studios had an epiphany on pricing :P

I find that a lot of 3D content is designed in that, something shooting out of the screen way that is incredibly old, tired and overrated.

Personally I find the subtle 3D effects to be more my style, where you can see the depth between the characters and fields of action much more.

3D should be subtle, and I think it's just going to take producers and directors a while to realise that and tire of making 3D effects for the sake of it, such as Piranha 3D (...

yeah, one offset stick is just so radical and right, so right it's wrong, right?

I've used both, there's barely anything in it other than where you put your thumb.

I don't know why the stealth bit in the museum was so hated, personally I found it to be a piece of piss; but then maybe that's because whilst completing a heist with an NPC I kept an eye on what they were doing rather than just concentrating on my own shit.

Regardless of whether they include a dedicated stealth section or not, the ability to approach many of the other situations with stealth to thin the ranks is greatly appreciated.

oh well, there's no accounting for taste.

Personally I saw it coming, Uncharted is inspired by Indiana Jones after all.
What I found it to be was an interesting change of pace that segued nicely into the plot.

As I say, it's all about people's tastes

wow, one piece of 'news' hits N4G and Omega is down at #7. What happened?

Anyway, surveys and statistics can be made to effectively say what you want with some tweaking, just ask Parliament.

Exactly, this is my stance; it's quite a pricey yet optional expense. However from what I have seen thus far it at least appears to function.

But you have 'options', wasn't that one of Microsoft's key buzz phrases when launching the 360 with lots of accessories that many deemed necessary such as a hard drive.

I agree, when looking at two players move and kinect are evenly priced, but it doesn't make the options argument any more of less valid this time round.

The PSEye could easily be put to this purpose, as the Eyetoy demonstrated voice control years ago.

Personally however, what with my PS3 playing so many codecs (hence being my media server) I'd find it a chore to say

"Playstation, Open one terabyte drive"

Baaa.... ahem, sorry, got type cast there and got carried away.

Pappy, given that large companies are practically expected to spin news to put them in a favourable light I view the 1% with caution.

To me, and my rational view of this statement, it seems perfectly plausible that this is what is occurring. After all, the Kinect camera cannot be expected to be loaded with all the libraries needed and be fully up-datable unless they plan to have flash memory on b...
