Indeed, but its like PS3 and Blu-Ray, they're reciprocating relationships.
"TV makers forced everyone to buy HD TV’s"
you're right, I still tear up when I remember the day they burst into my house with AK-47's and killed my first born.
You make some fairly interesting points about money, but the world is split into the have and have nots.
Yeah but don't forget a HANA chip peeling from the board is art, whereas native support is apparently inferior to upscaling.
If MS made Jarvis.
Jarvis: "Good news Sir, I've been firmware upgraded and can now converse with you when you are sitting."
Tony: "Excellent, Jarvis load up the calculations for that augmented reality simulation with 3D tracking and ballistic trajectory computation."
Jarvis: "Negative, the closest thing I have to your request is Kinectimals sir."
Tony: "What the hell... what use is that....
don't worry about it. He's parroting much the same in so many threads I think its just an autopilot function.
Oh no wait, I'd trust an autopilot.
A lightgun game that maps cutscene skipping to the trigger? Begging to have you skip merrily through the murky waters of 'acting'.
This comes from someone who played Time Crisis 2 so much I can still remember all the bad guy locations, and can switch hands and take off my coat while playing in the arcade.
Jack Burton is completely right, while a good story would be a bonus, it's not why we play light gun shooters.
The fact that this was known about from FO3, yet still made it in to New Vegas tells me a lot about how much work was done on refinement. Won't be purchasing this one until I know it runs properly. FO3 was great, but the glitches annoy. Oh, and even if i get this I wont buy DLC again, only 1 piece was any good for FO3, and all were too expensive.
Secured the Philosopher's legacy, her original mission, which removed it from the hands of a madman (okay killed by Big Boss) but also his regime. Agreed to take the fall in order to avert nuclear war. Gave the final push to her mentee in order for him to be the best soldier he could be. Inspired those around her to free the world from the tyranny of another's misinterpretation.
Personally I'd say that if it occurred in real life (a good measuring stick) that some...
I think Ron Burgundy would say that the launch line up lacks a certain old old wooden ship.
Final Fantasy 13. The compression on FMV was pretty bad, okay they wasted a bit of space and didn't use variable compression, but the fact remains that it had to be tweaked to fit DVD.
At present time the compression of audio isn't a huge deal to most as their AV equipment isn't up to the job.
Psychoacoustic compression (as heavily utilised by MPEG-Layer 3) is one way of getting everything onto disk, but it is not nearly as good as Huffman entropy...
The gameplay in Defiance was a bit repetitive, but was well worth it to see the story.
Amy Hennig now works at Naughty Dog, that's why the characters in Uncharted are good.
But I agree, LoK is one of the best story driven series ever.
Where is The Boss?
And yes she is a heroine, if you don't think so then you likely missed the point of Snake Eater.
Raiden is a decent enough character. The whole point of him being whiney and needing reassurance was so that Snake, by comparison, seemed even more brilliant.
As a massive fan I was disappointed by having to play Raiden too, but the point was to give us a more objective look at Snake as a character, so he could grow. You can't make a character seem that impressive when controlled as a player always considers that it is them making the difference in their gameplay.
I must say that I thought the gameplay trailer at E3 was boring.
The cutting dynamic is a nice gameplay addition, but is nowhere near enough content to warrant an entire trailer.
Still, fingers crossed for another excellent MGS
Peace walker was excellent, both gameplay and story wise.
It slotted into the timeline perfectly.
I want Rising to be the best hack and slash of the genre, with excellent stealth mixed in.
I want Rising to be an exceptional MGS game.
I want Rising to be game of the year material.
But I also wanted Rising to be canonical.
There's my only major gripe with the game.
Guy walks up to a girl in a bar.
Guy: Hi, buy you a drink?
Girl: What's your gamer score?
Guy: 500,000.
Girl: Excellent, I will go to bed with you.
Trust me guys, out there in the real world, gamerscore (and trophies) are vital.
The Legacy Of Kain series had some brilliant dialogue, one of my favourite series ever. The to and fro between Raziel and Kain is a delight.
@units
And very difficult to spot their resolution during gaming. Without equipment to scale and disect is how we should all judge games. Scaling 400% to see a jaggy basically means it looks fine.
This culture of comparing the Minutia of visuals needs to stop. If there is a visually profound difference then that is one thing, but a few blades of grass or heavens be a low resolution spark from a bullet ricochet is nothing to be concerned about unless you are either zooming in f...
