Its a good idea, and kind of an obvious move. I'd be scratching my head if they tried to keep people from exploring their technology for new uses.
I was going to give this game a pass as shovelware but now I'm interested...
Perfect, now if I could just get it to do my job too.
Wonder if they'll come up with a "wide angle" kinect that allows you to stand closer. I cant see why not.
Why do you think they wont add a controller with trigger if needed? Easy to do for any game since all it is is a button, kinect has the aiming covered.
But for your example with racing I'd prefer no controller, I'd prefer to reach out and make a shift motion with my arm, much more realistic (why head thrusting?? LOL). So I'm not following you there.
I'd say the problem in posts like this are people having lack of vision, they dont "see&...
I never get tired of the haters saying kinect will never be this... or that... and seeing them proved wrong everytime. It keeps me coming back to this site.
There will be a successful FPS kinect title I have no doubt whatsoever, there is simply too much money to be made, and I can definately see it being a lot of fun.
Its already been said they plan to incorporate specific controllers as needed, so no need to worry about a trigger.
As far ...
Sorry if I dont take the maker of the "Love" MMO an authority!! :D
But anyway, its already been said that Kinect will utilize controllers for specific applications. Maybe its just these forums but after seeing the lumps of PS nerds posts, I can just see them saying "see! you need a controller" lol. I say post on your G.D. PS threads, I dont post there because I dont give a crap about PS.
Kinect will do whatever is best for the game I am ...
Kinect has great ball control abilities, I put spin on kinect sports table tennis almost at will (depends on how on the defensive I am)!!
But its important to note: they arent as far into the development cycle with Kinect. I'm sure they will attempt to at least match sports table tennis ball control in which case this will be quite good :)
Its funny seeing all the haters comments out, they always seem to be ps3 groupies too. Why are you all so bitter?? ...
I used to hit the gym, but kinect is better. Its at home, its fun, its interactive and if they keep releasing updates for yourshape will keep my interest for a long time. You see the hook is in the way they do it like a class and notice when you arent doing it right.
The gym is tried and true, but kinect is new and improved. Its not "just a gimmick" or we would have put it away a long time ago.
Of course for strength I still keep some weights ar...
They did it too well, I cant get the wife off it so I can play!
Wish I could play it more, only one tv and wife keeps doing her 2 hour dance central sessions, but I get in every couple days for a yourshape workout followed by some sports.
Nothing for the sony fanbois to latch on to hate about here? I'm disappointed. Michael Phelps must have worn you out.
Anyway, looking forward to what you've got Ubi! Yourshape was and is awesome, use it almost everyday. I know youve got the taste of kinect cash in your mouth for producing a blockbuster game so I know you'll give us another.
LOL!!!!!
"Kinect supporters, particularly on this site, seem to be clinging on to anything that might be Kinect, to justify their purchase"
... thats a good one. I heavily suspect you are trolling but if not thats one bizarro mindset you've got there. With 8 million+ bought theres barely a complaint anywhere. I'm not a fanboi, I just re-entered the console market after owning an original ps many years ago and went for the best product. A...
It is what it is... an addon. I'm sure xbox 360 will continue to have many games (if not most) not requiring a kinect sensor. The thing with kinect is it takes effort, which is both its greatest strength and weakness. It requires a new kind of gamer, one thats willing to be in shape, which is what it is attracting. So it would be a bad idea for MS to pin everything on kinect.
Be cool if they could pull it off, I'd like to work on my front stroke. I'll wait for the reviews tho, I dont see how this could possibly work.
The eyetoy didnt sell 8 mill either, whys that? Oh yea... "It was a disaster" lol
Wife loves dance central but I just use it for the yourshape and sports, great exercise those two. I hope they dont come out with something too addictive my body cant take much more :p
But the possibilities are there, some of those core games in development have to turn out.
I was not surprised at all it would sell, I bought one too as soon as I heard about it and looked into it. In practice its worth double what they charged, the games are very engaging and contribute to my active lifestyle, with no controller. As such its the most innovative piece of tech on the market today.
What is with all the Playstation trolls on these forums anyway? I still dont know why they cant be happy for the industry, the more choices the better. All I can say ...
He brings up a lot of interesting possibilities, I hadnt thought of using motion commands to tell AI teammates what to do.
I dont see a shooter as the best use of kinect but if there were one I would expect a handheld gun-like controller (something you could use as pistol or rifle, maybe collapseable stock) with a trigger to know when you shoot.
If it could sense where you were shooting on screen and rotate the screen view if you pointed to the edge that woul...
Interesting article, kind of illustrates the point that kinect and move are completely different beasts since the real defining characteristics should be that kinect is "no controller" and move is "controller based".
Its apples and oranges really, we need to stop comparing them in spite of both being motion sensing.
