Nobody believes you.
I understand where you are coming from and using logic one would assume searches in 2012 are for more recent products ie: PS3, PS Vita and PSP (judging by the list all products have actually been released). But based on the present data and how it's presented, you would have to assume it literally means Playstation as in PSone.
Factual data should not be ambiguous.
To vague for me, The Playstation brand has existed for quite a while. If it was further broken down by product then that would be more interesting.
I mean all the other "Top Consumer Electronics Searches" are broken down by make/model except the Playstation brand...

Why is this logic always used for Japanese PS3 games? If it is not localized it does not exist. Do you not see the flaw in this logic?
On the PS3 side
1. Ni no Kuni (Not exclusive, released in 2010 DS and 2011 PS3)
2. Atelier Ayesha (Released in 2012)
3. Tales of Xillia/2 (Released in 2011 and 2012)
4. Yakuza 5 (released in 2012)
"It is one thing to claim that the PS3 is better than Xbox 360, which is a sometimes forgotten fact"
Stopped reading there. An opinion is not fact.
Can a company (Sony) whose credit rating was cut to the level of "Junk" status [1] and whose net worth went from $200 billion to $20 billion [2] really afford to make an unnecessary purchase of a company that they already have a good relationship with?

terrible idea.
Not gonna happen.
I think you misread the quote or you do not know the situation regarding Quake Wars' (which was planned as a simultaneous release). The game was heavily delayed on the 360 (even though it was ready for release) because of the PS3 version (which was having development issues).
Carmack wanted to release the 360 version and then release the PS3 version when it was ready but Sony's policy required extra exclusive content if that were the case. Carmack was not willing to a...

Sony have the exact same policy (possibly Nintendo too). This has been known for years.
The only difference I see is at 2:10 where a bird flies into view on the Xbox 360 version but not the PS3 version. Also the maximum amount of birds that can be seen flying in the background all at once from 2:10 onwards is 2 on the PS3 and 3 on the Xbox 360.
Lettuce be reality, the PS3 (on topic) has been maxed out for sometime. The real question is how much room is left for game engine optimization?
Whoops! It was actually LG who requested an import ban of the PS3 in Europe not Motorola, LG won a 10 day ban.

I apologize for my mistake.
lol Motorola tried to do this with the PS3 in Europe too.
@TheDiscobolos
Are you serious? SCE are only a subsidiary of Sony Corporation. Sony are losing money in other parts of their business as well.
Sony went from an estimated worth of $200 billion in 2000 to $20 billion in 2012.
LOL!! Says "ONE" analytics company.
There is no way to accurately track a consoles "gaming" usage or even general usage. brb using my PS3 mainly to watch Blu-rays while connected to the internet or filling out a survey of how many hours a day I game on my PS3 = playing my PS3.
@tigertron
I'm sure Sega Dreamcast fans felt the same way...

Unfortunately it's true.

It be would bad for the gaming industry though. Indies have full control over their projects.
Companies like -$ony suppress originality and creativity, as the primary goal of acquiring an indie developer is ownership of their IP's. Just look at what -$ony did to Zipper Interactive and what they doing to Media Molecule.
