That is just an opinion and this Sony-N4G so be prepared for disagrees.

I wonder though, if MS update their achievement system with new features will Sony copy their concept again?

edit: @visible_schlong
Concept.

In game goals/challenges have been around for years. MS's concept was a ui integrated and game mandatory system that displays on a users profile and lists completed or uncompleted challenges for games the user owns as wel...

@NaiNaiNai
There are references at the bottom of the wikipedia article. Most of the references (haven't check them all) link to announcements of the studios by MS themselves.

@Enemy, Riderz1337
Only 3 are dedicated Kinect developers and 2 are casual developers.

MS have 21 first party studios now.

They do share the blame but MS is also an American company. You have to remember that any apps or content that are created are created through partnerships with their respective owners or bound by license agreements/regional laws. Have you ever wondered why hulu is restricted to the US/NA and the UK equivalent (lovefilm) is restricted to some EU countries?

With more partnerships in the US it's obvious there will be more content the same is true for the PS3 in Japan. You c...

How can you be blaming MS for EU/country specific laws that can restrict content. You do realize that EU PS3 owners are missing apps and content that are available in the US or JPN and vice versa, hence the reason why many PS3 owners create regional accounts.

Why do Sony fanatics consistently embarrass themselves?

Timed-exclusivity implies that a deal was made between companies to deliberately delay the release of a product on other platforms or in other territories. That was never the case with Destiny. Bungie are new to the PS3 and will only release a PS3 version if they are confident it will be of equal quality, hence the reason the Xbox 360 version may have been released first. However that is doubtful as Sony force developers to add exclusive content to the PS3 version of multiplatform games that ...

@Shadow Flare

If each console were a mirror image where exactly would the competition be?

Thatgamecompany created Flower, Journey and Flow not Sony and they were/are bound by a 3 game exclusivity deal, which almost bankrupted them, the same is probably true for many other PS3 exclusives (bar 1st party, going near bankrupt).

Sony are pushing exclusives because third party exclusives are near extinct (something Sony relied on the past two gener...

Funny how the tides have changed and Sony throwing money at developers for exclusivity is now somehow a good thing.

LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, Resistance, Heavy Rain, etc were all original IP's created by independent developers. Sony's role was simply paying to deny the experience to a wider audience. You should be thanking the developers not Sony for the aforementioned IP's.

Not sure about Nintendo but for Sony (12 years);

Sony Net Worth (Sept, 2000)
$200 billion

Sony Net Worth (Apr, 2012)
$20 billion

http://www.bloomberg.com/ne...

I think I read somewhere that their net worth has gone down to as low as $18 billion.

Sony were the market leaders last generation and generation before that. Just think about that for a second, then think about the position Sony are in this generation. It would be great selling 77 million (source?), it would be great being second or third if the Playstation brand were relatively young but it's not.

The tide has changed for the Playstation brand, it is no longer dominate, Sony are worth $180 billion less than they were in the PS1-PS2 era, gaming in genera...

"PS3 was way over memory"

I wonder how often this problem [if true] arises during both multiplatform and exclusive game development on the PS3. It might explain why the majority of multiplatform games appear worse on the PS3.
