but to be honest, that was so long ago (and I'm really dating myself here) they all kind of run together now. GI Joe, Transformers, Pac-Man, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Flintstones, Voltron...ah, the good 'ol days of cartoons.
and because I agree with you. You gotta admit though...the announcement did change gaming history. That small little part of history where people have all 26 maps memorized and would be thrown off by dynamic map changes. :-) Does anyone remember the Pac-Man cartoon? That was awesome.

I was just trying to make the point that Killzone 2 is a pretty big title for the PS3. It has a following and certainly has alot of people anticipating its release. Everyone's tastes differ of course, alot of people dislike Halo, but it doesn't take away that fact that it will be a big seller. By the way, props on your avatar.
The game looks okay, nothing stellar. I still can't wait for the movie though. I think it's going to kick a$$.
Killzone is a PS3 exclusive. Halo is a 360 exclusive. I'm not sure what there is to "counter". If Sony thinks they could sway some hardware sales by releasing Killzone concurrently with Halo, I think they may need to rethink that idea. Halo is a proven franchise that is capable of driving hardware sales. While Killzone is also a proven franchise, I don't think it has the kind of clout that would sway people away from Halo IMO. I like to be able to reference back to the comment I am replying to. Having to scroll up and down is a bit cumbersome. Same thing for the agree/disagree reloading the page. On a page with over 100 comments, it can be a task to try and find your place again. I'm not sure I'm too crazy about the "clan/member" idea, though. The whole game will end up being one big Meth induced nightmare in Shepherd's mind. Haha On a real note though, I agree with you, I wish they wouldn't wait until August to come out with this game. It would be in their best interest to not get too mixed up with the Halo hype.

I said it was strange based on previous performance by Sony consoles, the PS2 in particular. The hype was huge for the PS3, and the launch delays only added to the hype. Once it was finally here, it just didn't deliver the way alot of people were expecting it to. You're exactly right about the price though. It has certainly been the main motivational force behind the low sales.

That's pretty impressive. It will be interesting to see how it eventually integrates into the home environment.
it has a nice solid weight and feel to it, along with vibration. The button layout is excellent, along with the two triggers. The split design of the L & R analog sticks was one of the best innovations IMO. It feels much more natural when holding it. The guide button was a great plus as well. I will agree that the D-pad needs some serious help. Sony has the best D-pad around, without question. Overall though, I think the 360 wireless is the best controller around.
Let's do a taste test between apples and oranges. Come on, is this really what it has come down to? RFOM is a great game. Halo 3 final build is going to be a great game. There's just no sense trying to compare the two games, other than the fact that they're both FPS. If you're going to compare anything, compare ports. Everyone needs to relax and enjoy the fact that we're in the middle of a really great time for gaming.
It looks promising. It sounds like they're kind of reinventing the wheel in order to make dramatic improvements over previous versions.
Although it's a third party that made the mistake, like the other two cases. I agree there should be a little more attention paid to detail with these ads and articles, but there's no need to crucify these people. Now if Sony came out with a first party commercial featuring PGR3 images or videos, then that would be something to point fingers at. The whole thing is still a bit humorous, being that it's happened three times, but that's about where it stops with me.
Stryder would be sweet, along with the old Alien vs. Predator FPS. I agree with Bathyj, Rygar would be killer too.
It's going to set the new standard for RPGs IMO. I've had my pre-order down since January. I can't wait for it to come out, so here's hoping that it doesn't get delayed any longer.
