Sony deserved criticism for the lack of 1st party announcements at their showcase, but I still think they showed more games that I was excited for because of some great 3rd party and indie stuff.
This MS show was pretty underwhelming to be honest, a couple of good games but overall, just like Sony's event, I was left waiting for a couple of announcements to blow my socks off.
Currently replaying the 1st game to get the Platinum on my second account and it remains an utterly fantastic game.
I'll be getting the plat again on Moles Morales too ahead of this sequel. The thing that is amazing to me is that not only do we have this sequel to enjoy, but once it's released, Insomniac will likely start teasing us with Wolverine, they are such a talented studio!
Agreed!! The guy has had to keep his head down since the 360 era as they had fuck all to brag about and now, having bought a publisher, they have some games so here he comes. The guy is an absolute plum!!
Incidently, by taking pot shots at the PS event, he is also indirectly throwing shade at all of the 3rd party devs and publishers who's games were featured, honestly, he has no class and is a complete moron.
I think lackluster is the perfect word to describe the Showcase.
I am so conflicted because there were loads of games that I personally thought looked great, but I was also really disappointed that there were barely any megaton 1st party announcements.
Overall I was really disappointed, but had they folded in just 2 or 3 more announcements from the likes of Suckerpunch or Naughty Dog and I think the reception would have been much more positive.
This isn't about console wars or platform wars, I care a great deal about the PlayStation brand as I have enjoyed their goods and services for decades at this point.
I want to continue to see PS flourish and I firmly believe that strong console sales are an essential component of PlayStation's success. The biggest factor in the sales success of consoles is the amazing library of exclusive games available in the PS ecosystem, so for me, I honestly believe the bigges...
Never a truer word spoken mate!
Obscure, you talk complete bollocks 100 percent of the time, how about you give it a rest when in comes to UK politics and regulation, you haven't got the 1st clue.
On topic, as a civil servant myself, it comes as no surprise to hear that MPs want to involve themselves in something they have no clue about and it will based on nothing more than lobbying from interested parties. What can MPs in the space of a few hours at an enquiry, contribute to the decision making pro...
Yeah, apologies that I made something of a sweeping statement. I realise there are plenty of Americans who are more self aware.
Unfortunately, we have a very similar issue in the UK where a good chunk of the population believe in UK exceptionalism.
The arrogance of Americans blows my mind sometimes....."..can' t treat an American company like this", do you know how much of a plonker you sound right now?
I don't care if there are free battle passes as well as paid ones, the modern trend of having to pay for loot or ingame content just doesn't sit right with me. Used to be the case that you could buy a game and earn the coolest loot etc., by simply playing the game.
I have to say, at this point I cannot imagine any game beating Tears in respect of creativity and scope. The new powers feel incredible and at around 7 hours in, the possibilities feel endless.
Of course, I hope Spiderman 2 and Starfield are in the GOTY conversation because that means we will have had a bunch of incredible games in 2023.
Dude, resist the temptation. Honestly, BotW deserves your attention, ignore the naysayers on N4G, they are a very insignificant majority when you consider how many millions of people did play the game and loved it.
I would say to stick with your playthrough because it would be hard to go back to after playing this sequel. Just my take squire, I am so glad I replayed BotW before jumping into the sequel.
And you clearly haven't played Tears if you think it's a copy of BotW, so how is your comment any more valid?
He gets a free pass in respect of his senior role at Xbox before he became Head in my view. As general manager of Microsoft Studios he was also part of the management team that oversaw the decline in 360 and the piss poor performance of Xbox ever since.
He is a snake oil salesman, plain and simple and he always has been. It's hilarious that some members on N4G would talk about Nintendo getting a free pass whilst at the same time letting Spencer and Xbox off the hook o...
It's not Arkane's decision as to whether to 'make it right' any longer, that will be down to MS as its their money. I am not sure that NS will continue to throw money at this for much longer personally.
I must admit, I do find myself buying less games at launch than I used too. There will still be games where I simply can't wait but I do find myself hanging on a few weeks these days. The reason is twofold for me, cost is a factor but also, I tend to wait for a few patches to drop before I decide to play.
Trouble for me is, I usually consider most Sony 1st party titles to be 'mustplay' and I buy them on day one, but I have never paid 70 quid. Most I have paid...
I just don't understand articles like this at all. Nintendo rarely get away with anything from what I see. They are pretty consistently written about in respect of the pricing of their remasters, the Switch showing its age, their poor online implementation and their weird handling of things like YouTube streaming etc.
I would go as far as saying if anyone gets a free pass its Spencer and Xbox, at least Nintendo put out games.
So I imagine you don't use goods or services from any other companies that enforce their intellectual property rights either?
Quite how anyone can disagree with your comment boggles my mind. How many scandles have their been with Tories and lobbying or the awarding lucrative contracts to friends and donors over the last 5 years?
I am excited to play Starfield but I have to say, the character models and external environment details looked very weak to my eye. The hair, facial hair and eyes on the character models were laughable to be honest, just go back and look at the character creation portion on the presentation.
I think the most impressive visual element was the lighting, that really did look fantastic, some of those sunrise/sunset vistas looked stunning.
I'll be checkin...
