Steam is all digital, DIGITAL, this means when you get the game from them it is legit from the get go.
Xbox was going to allow this also with physical disc based games. With the 24 hour check in it was going to make sure you still owned that game so your friends can share it.
Why do you think sony allows the PS3 digital download to be shared bet...
Family share plan could work with digital copies but I doubt they will implement something like that when you can't do it with the physical copy since there is no check in to see it is legit.
This change in policies may make people feel more comfortable, but it is an overall loss in innovation. The fact that some people still don't understand the features that the Xbox One would have had is proof of that.

Seriously, stop spamming the same thing in every single Xbox article. Steam is all digital and that is why they don't need the check in. Xbox uses the check in to verify your disc based games are legit.

Actually there was an article up today that revealed Steam's plan to allow sharing of games.

You think it's consumers that are hurting the industry? We constantly don't buy games that don't appeal to us and the dev/pub decide that game didn't work so lets get movie stars to be voice actors and spend even more money.

Except steam doesn't allow you to trade in your games after your done.
That's the only reason necessary for the online check in is the ability to still have physical game copies and trade them in and buy them used.

You play the game, decide to trade it in, take it to the store, they unregister it to you, and can resell it.

I think your own point went over your head. It is the exact same as lending someone a disc but you don't actually have to hand them the disc. So lending in general is pointless according to you.
Also, not sure if true, I've read a couple places saying that the original owner of the game and one other can play at the same time. Any info on this?

They did do that, it was called the original Xbox. Don't know if you remember or not but that's not what sells consoles.

On Topic: I believe your issues with the Xbox one are legit, minus the second one I fault neither consoler(or both) for this since it will be the same on both. As for the Online Check in, I understand exactly why they are doing it and for that amount of time. A week would be way to much, one could easily beat a...
Most of you are ignorant from what I have been reading. But I do agree with you, a simple solution would be to allow offline play with the disc in the drive. It seems like the best option unless there is a way to exploit it that I haven't seen yet.
Buy the retail copy so you can trade in the game when you no longer want to play it. With Xbox you can have the benefits of a downloaded game, no disc needed, and the benefit of a disc copy, ability to trade game in for cash or credit.
Funny how many people still don't realize Xbox can play used games, PS now requires multiplayer paywall, and that Destiny, Diablo 3, FF15, and KH3 are not PS exclusive.

This might be the first realistic review I have seen of the game. Great points are made and actually praising, what I believe, is the funnest multiplayer in a long time.
It's nice to not see the usual 10 thrown out there. I have no idea how so many people gave this game a perfect score with the game breaking bugs(now fixed), bit of repetitiveness in single player, and the miss or hit AI.
Again great review for a great game.
