@Battle Torn
Fair enough, lol.
@airBreeze
So you can't earn these things in game and still get the satisfaction. You've apparantly never been in a situation facing someone who has been given a money advantage over you and beaten them, as it is a pretty satisfying experience. Earning something while someone else has to pay to get to your stature only increases the satisfaction knowing they aren't as good as you.
My way of thinking...
@above 3
WTF is wrong with you people? Just because someone can buy there way to something makes earning it seem pointless? Apparently you never earned something in your life, as it is an extremely satisfying experience.
Someone pays $1000 dollars to bang a 10+ girl, but that some how ruins it for someone banging super models. GTFO
I didn't know 23yr old gamers were old farts now, guess I just can't keep up with today's youth.
Who buys a console at launch for future titles? If your validation to buy a next gen console is the games it will have, then why are you buying it now?

It better not be oatmeal raisin lol. I'm not thinking of Super Mario World, although it might follow that, I thought the original one did it also.
Looked it up and you're right about the complete game over. Strange since none of the other ones did this, that I can remember. Hell even the lost levels only started you at 5-1 if yo died at 5-4.
We are getting extremely off point here, but the rewind is nothing more than a convenient restart button. I...
In Mario it wouldn't be game over, you would restart at the beginning of that world with 5 lives. Back to the rewind thing, in GT you can just quit the race and start it over.
It's like you have never played these games but bring them into this argument thinking that they can back you up.
Also Ninja Gaiden is a difficult game by reputation. Just play some of these games and you will see most of the things that make them easier are just a choice that...
Ignorance is bliss, eh. I was referring to you as a troll, hence the cave comment. And I don't think Google was really around in the early nineties, I mean the probably were but I didn't have internet till much later.
Also, WTF you talking about try losing in today's games? You can easily lose in every game; skeleton kills you in Dark/Demon souls, a Clicker hears you, Los Santos Police bring a chopper, it goes on. Maybe get of the easiest level and challenge y...
Please give the entire first 6 month offering that PS plus did when it first started, that is the comparison that should be made.
Looking at them MS has done better with first offerings than Sony did.
Still MS needs to step it up quick to compete with the Plus of now.
Mario bros, beat it in under ten minutes. Not a difficult game, maybe you just can't see the screen that well in your cave.
Also, can't you quit races before they are done in every racing game? Wouldn't that be the same as rewind just more hassle.
Damn, you were a tall ass kid, lol.
Growing up with a parent who plays games with you is always a fun experience.
Might be a little OCD, but have the consoles right next to each other with the next gen in mid is going to drive me crazy getting it to look uniform.
But, that might be the best I can do. I guess I will just have to wait till November, that's when the real planning will have to take place.
Friend: "Hey man you online yet"
Me: "No time, have to position my consoles just right."
Little off topic but, I'm getting the X1 and have been planning on where to put it. The problem is I have a PS3 and 360 so I can't seem to find a way to make it look conform and nice looking with those three console on one tv stand.
I guess if you had two of one brand and one of the other what would be a good way to have those set up? Three tiered, bottom mid top? Oh next gen and all the problems you bring.
@Blacklash
Thanks for the info, and I didn't even think of the non PC community being confused by it.
@Silent
The living room machine and mention of TV are the main points of confusion, I see OS and I think immediately computer operating system. So these two things being constantly crossed with little hard facts, gives way to mass speculation from the community.
Hell, I just read it again, and each time I do I keep thinking computer OS to...
It really is kind of the fault of Valve for the little confusion. I first thought it was a streaming service/device thingy, to be technical, on the first read through.
I think the part that is throwing people off is at first "OS" makes sense what it is. But then they go on to talk about it only by mentioning living room machine, and the talk about streaming games. This gives people the impression it would just stream to tv or have a medium running steamOS specifi...
I was referring to the standards you set for what is good for each area (sales or quality). But yeah going off his meaning of expansion it kinda voids my argument.
I'm not saying the 360 was solely responsible for expansion, I'm just stating that the market has almost doubled this gen, while the sale of PS consoles went down overall.
By the market doubling, with MS and Nintendo increasing sales while PS loses sales kinda shows that MS and Nintendo were able to get a new source of consumers, thus expanding the market.
You discredit the Wii for sales, but then discredit the mobile games for quality. Choose a meas...

You're right I totally forgot that Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros are fads. No way they will be popular for more than a couple years.
People still talk about Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade, Twilight Princess/Skyward sword.

So let me get this straight, during the last gen there were about what, 165 million consoles sold during their time? (PS2 120, XB 24, GC 21)
We now have 80 million each of X360 and PS3, and 100 million Wii's sold. Explain again how the market hasn't expanded.
Could you tell me what games sold the most this gen, not packaged with console, and who made the games?
After you have done that, please eat some crow.
First, I think you are completely off base.
Second, you apparently have never seen South Park if you think that is too far.
