devs will/have been briefed on what they can/cant do. so if in 4 or 5 years they need more ram than the unconfirmed 5 available, they will/can use it.
simple. the hypervisor will shut down ram using apps/os if need be.

from what i have read, the hypervisor in the xbox 1 can shut down ram using applications if need be. so what denawayne said is correct.
if a game needs more ram, then the hypervisor will allocate it the correct amount.
the source engine is old. it was clear from e3 that there would be better looking games that titanfall at launch.... but will there be many that play better??
