So where you live the game released October 13th, for the rest of us it released September 9th. You then traveled back in time to September 30th and sold an unreleased game? Did I get that right? You must have made a fortune!!!!!!!!!!
So did anyone read the article? Or are we just going to react to the title, get all indignant and use this as iron clad prove that evil Bungie and Activision are out to get us?
Because the article pretty clearly states that all it has been confirmed is that the story was revised in August 2013 a month before their lead writer, whom had been with the company for 15 years, departed.
It doesn't confirm that the games story was cut up to be resold as DLC (wh...
I agree with you to a certain degree. I agree that he could have had the success along with an absurd amount of money and remained true to him self and his values without selling Minecraft.
I don't see the need to bring Capitalism into it? What does an economic ideology have to do with anything right now? Capitalism sucks as a system, it's horrible, but it is still miles better than any other system and history has proven that.
Money can't buy ...
I love this universe! Yes its ridiculous and nonsensical, but the meta, the lore, the psychology behind it all is absolutely amazing.
Whatever Kojima ends up doing after this, whoever he teams up with, he'll have my unquestionable support, at least initially.
@Maranatha
Exactly! It is a good thing that as many gamers get to play and experience MGSV. Third party exclusives should not exist, third party should remain third parties, they should remain neutral.
Last gen after I switched from 360 to PS3, mainly because I was throwing a temper tantrum, because I had gone through 4 different 360s, 2 of which I had to purchase, 2 got fixed for free by Microsoft, I started to think that the reason why I hated timed exclu...
@XBLSkull
I have never understood why people think that an all digital future would be so much cheaper.
while production costs may fall some what, due to the lack of physical media production, those costs will be offset by a spike in server maintenance, IT employees and other costs that will arise from the maintenance and upkeep of server farms.
I work in IT, my job is fairly simple and boring, things don't normally get exciting around th...
I agree with you completely, it depends on your particular situation. Me for example, I was born and spent much of my formative years in a 3rd world country in Latin America, so while I was born in the very early 80s, Gaming didn't really kickoff for me until my family moved back to may Dad's country, the United States.
While I did wake up on Christmas to a brand new Nintendo one Christmas morning, having a very old school latina mother, who's very concept of vid...
No Nintendo didn't start it all. You forget about the Atari my good sir, and even further than that, Magnavox. However, Nintendo did rescue a crashing industry, only in the U.S., as the gaming industry was fine, even thriving in Europe and Asia, and still in its infancy in Latin America.
So in the States and the rest of North America, Nintendo is a savior, a revolutionary in the rest of the world and beloved by all, but they are most definitely not the progenitors.
I was going to point out the same thing! Microsoft is not so much daring to be different as much as they were forced to change direction after getting the you know what handed to them by both gamers and Sony.
On the one point I disagree with you a little, not much though, is that there were some cool features that went by the wayside when Microsoft changed course.
I guess you could mention the game sharing, but I have been around long enough to know that if ...
Not really funny man, your puns just fell short bro.
@Omnisonne
I hate the fact that I can't just reply to you directly, but it is what it is.
Yeah, the loot cave and peoples reaction to it was very indicative of a problem with the loot system when Destiny first launched. And if that would still be the case, I would completely agree with you.
However, and thankfully, that is no longer the case, and hasn't been so in 10 months. The Cryptarch issue was fixed so you no longer got a commo...
I love Destiny, I love the lore behind it, I love the gunplay, I love the mechanics of it, the PvP I don't hate.
There is a pretty large community of people out there that are constantly playing the game, and Bungie as a developer actually listens to that community.
The game is a completely different experience today than it was at launch, but I guess people are just too busy hating on something, rather than enjoying something that they enjoy.

I think Destiny is a great game. Just because it is not the game for you, does not mean it's not a great game.
I've put well over 400 hours at this point into the game, and I have loved every minute of it. It does have its problems, the story was virtually none existing, but this has been improved quite a bit.
The DLC plan is very Activision-ish, and honestly if it wasn't because my wife gave me the season pass as a gift, I would have probably ...
I can see everything you said here coming to fruition, except the 3DO thing. The 3DO was doomed to failure from its inception, a $600 console at those times? come on!
Yeah, because it's Sony the one that is living in the past, and refuses to create new IP's, and its Sony the ones still remaking the same games since the 80s, right? RIGHT???
@Concertoine
You are absolutely right. And just like Dr. Frankenstein, Nintendo created their own monster when they stabbed Sony in the back and got in bed with Philip.
Which was a huge deal back then, Japanese companies just did not do this to one another, and they certainly didn't stabbed each other in the back to get in bed with a foreign one. And to add insult to injury, we all know how that Phillips partnership ended up as. CDi anyone?

I literally like pretty much everything you had to say. I agree whole heartedly, but I am afraid.
What if 2nd place isn't enough for them? We have to remember that the Xbox division has never made a profit. They lost hundreds of millions on the original Xbox, they lost billions on the 360 and its myriad of problems, biggest of which was the RROD, and only God knows how much money the have lost by unbundling the Kinect and the Xbox one.
They have kept a...
Is no one going to address the fact that he stated that Microsoft has more studios and provided a link to a Wikipedia page for Microsoft game studios, while linking the Wikipedia page for Sony computer entertainment where it list the different publishing labels and not linking to the Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios where it list the actual subsidiaries, aka studios, that Sony owns?
By the way, Microsoft has got 9, Sony has 15, that is a difference of over 50%.
There is no controversy! Even if Sony is publishing the game and helping with the development costs, there is nothing morally wrong with them saying we'll give you 95% of the money you need, but you will have to find the other 5% on your own, and then Suzuki using Kickstarter to fund the rest.
The only thing shady would be if Sony was using the crowd funding to buy the i.p., which they're not. Sega still owns the i.p., they could potentially make more games in the s...
And you're right, I play Destiny, and I was every as disappointed to find that the assets for The Dark Below and House of Wolves were already on the disk that I purchased back in September 9th 2014.
It is a shady practice to hide away content, or better said, lock away content that is already on the disk behind a future activation code that you have to pay for. Or at the very least is a grey area.
And we have every right to expect what was advertised and...
