This is an issue. Not just in gaming, but in media as a whole. Where we used to have fact based broadcasts and publications, now we have sensationalism, grand-standing, agenda and ideology driven puff pieces that border on propaganda. MSNBC, FOX news and the like have taken their sides according to what suits THEIR best interest.
The truth, and informing the people, are no longer paramount. Instead it has become a race to pick sides, like a gang.

I'm calling BS on that.
I've never understood why some people were so down on UC3s MP. I enjoyed the crap out of that. I think I may have put in more hours into UC2s, but I enjoyed UC3s more. I just had more games to play around UC3s time.
But there could be a solution for all of this. All Naughty Dog would have to do is add a Hardcore mode.
No radar, no kickbacks, no power plays, no mystics or buddies or whatever else the rest of us may consider fun.
Just a...
Again kid, you are wrong.
Naughty Dog has worked on Insomniac games.
Sucker Punch worked on the port of SFxTekken for the PSP.
Insomniac has worked on Naughty Dogs games.
Studio Japan has an extremely long history of co-developing games and taking over projects from other developers, just google them.
And finally, Santa Monica has perhaps the second longest history, next to Studio Japan, of co-development and...
Wow, ok guys that's enough of this dumb argument.
@mocaak
You are wrong bud. Insomniac actually helped Naughty Dog with development of Crash Bandicoot, ND helped Insomniac with the Spyro series, which gave pointers on what to do with their next series which turned out to be Jak & Daxter.
While Insomniac helped with J&D, they learned a lot which helped with their next Sony owned I.P. Rachet & Clank, which ND helped on as well,...
Sarcasm and cynical humor are so very hard to pull off in a comments section.
Oh you were serious?!
Then I disagree my good sir. I love the elite controller, I wish Sony would partner with Scuff as well and build one of their own, but a killer feature it is not.
Cloud computing is interesting, could be one of the few true evolutions in the gaming realm, but if it is, I suspect that it will be more impactful next gen, and between then and now...
I have a theory about that. Microsoft didn't really care about the sales of ROtTR, they just wanted another game in a different genre to bolster up their "Xbox one has the best line up in the history of Xbox" this holiday season.
They used RotTR as a sacrificial lamb in order to make that boast. It was all for the marketing and positioning of the brand, not the game itself.
It would seem that even for the games that Microsoft has the marketing...
How is the PS community awful? Honest question, not trying to troll or anything of the sort.
I hear that a lot from certain people, but my experience has been the complete opposite, on PS mind you.
Loads of people playing the games, quickly finding matches, supportive community all that jazz. Same thing on XBL.
Although I seem to run into a lot more foul mouthed people on XBL than on PSN, but I'm pretty fouled mouth myself so its cool. ...
There is Logic to what you are saying. But it is really hard to get on board with it. Simply because I don't think that there actually that many gamers that will purchase both the PS4 and the Xone.
Looking back at the history of the industry it seems that the number of gamers that end up owning both big consoles is few and far in-between, and possibly shrinking.
Just look at the numbers during the 6th gen. There were 209.87+ million consoles sold by th...
@TFJWM:
No I wouldn't because that is not that type of character. Joel is Joel, he's not an empty or semi empty vessel for the player, like Commander Sheppard, your Dragon Age character, your guardian in Destiny and so on.
Joel is a fully realized character, we are meant to sympathize with Joel, to feel his pain. He has been fully realized as a character, he is not a representation of me, he is who he is. I don't know if I'm explaining myse...
Asia and Africa would be awesome locations too.
I really don't care if there are gay characters in a game regardless of setting. The only character whos sexuality I care about is whoever I am playing as.
And only in games where choices matter and you make your own character. As in those cases I use the avatar as a vessel for me, my personality, my morality and sexual preference.
Other than that and those type of games, I don't care. NPCs can be as gay as they want to make them, but the moment th...
I thought TLoU story had closure. I loved everything about the ending, from the actions of Joel, to the subtle implications of the collectibles ( of the ending Hospital level), to Ellie's tacit acceptance of her survival but obviously seeing through Joel's BS.
I thought the ending was subtle enough in what it tried to convey, yet direct enough to let us know that this is the end of the road for Joel and Ellie. This is where their story, their direct involvement in t...
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was really hoping it had something to do with hard mode, or like an exotic loot drop for hard mode and beyond.
But this goes to show how much care and attention this devs are putting into the game.
GG Luke Smith, GG my good sir.
@Jag-T1000
Sure, and we also wouldn't have competition between hardware makers, driving them to make better hardware.
I understand why exclusives are off putting to some. I understand that not every one would be able to afford multiple consoles and thus would miss out on some great games, no because they couldn't afford the game, but because they can't afford the price of entry.
Hell I've been in that position myself a few times.
@moldybread
I don't understand this sentiment from some of us gamers that exclusives are anti consumer. They're really not, they are incentives for the consumer.
That is how a royalty and licensing market works, without that part of it, we would, more than likely, face a similar situation that almost killed the industry back in the late 70s and early 80s.
A one console solution has already been tried with the spectacular failure that was the ...
@DevilOgreFish
In fact, Sony has admitted that first party exclusives rarely make any money. Unless we are talking about mega franchises the likes of Halo, GT, Gears, GoW, Uncharted, TLoU, and I'm not sure if Forza is profitable (as a stand alone franchise, they have never had "great" numbers) and the such.
Most 1st party AAA titles hope to break even, let alone make a profit.
The exception is clearly Nintendo. Their first party AAA ga...
BEST... METAPHOR... EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Bubs up to you my good sir!!!!
The game is not dead yet, but it is on life support. The upcoming DLC, if its done right, might resurrect it, but if its anything like the Incursion update, then it will kill it.
Being a heavy Destiny player myself, i was looking forward a lot to The Division, not because they are similar, but because I though that The Division could be what Destiny failed to do. I knew that it would have deeper RPG mechanics, better loot system and everything they said about the matchmak...
