They did good with this update.
I dont want to get into an innovation debate as that could mean a lot of things.
Lets just say after about 8 hrs of playing it, I felt like I had already played this many times over since Unreal Tournament days.
Just calling it an Arena style shooter doesnt excuse it. Any style shooter can innovate and have new experiences.
This game has no growth feeling, no destruction, no immersive events in game, not much visual improvements to make...
Its a decent shooter.
Feels dated.
Want innovation go elsewhere.
Want a new toy for a few weeks. This is it.
Not true but not entirely wrong.
There are games before it. Techinally Hunter was like GTA before GTA. Though its not something I would play.
Theres also Elder Scrolls Arena and then Daggerfall.
Morrowind and GTA3 both defined open worlds in their own way that many games still take from/ These two games fully realised ther kinds of universes and their versions of interactivity.
I personally think Morrowind. Loot, spe...
Add Doom/Eternal series
That winter was spectacular.
Oct 2011- BF3
Nov 2011- Skyrim
Dec 2011 - Swtor
There is no progression.
Sad times
I think we have become immune to the same Forza and Halo punches.
Another year another Forza. I am a huge forza fan and have bought collectors of 2 and 3 and played 4 but i genuinely wanted them to skip this year and do something radically different.
Guess not. Same old punch, now feels like a tickle.
I played about 7 hours now.
The battle pass is unanimously hated by everyone I know and in steam.
The gameplay is fun but something makes it feel dated. Its nice and all but just no innovation. Same old battle rifle.
I thought I could settle into it for winter, not so much now.
Maybe I'll try 2042?
Look forward to the campaign tho.
Wont matter. Someone like me will never get halfway there even in 5 yrs.
The requirements in the challenges are something I would never do. That just becomes a pve style grind and a lot of it you'll need to go out of your way and do unfun things.
Wow the Battle Pass for this game is just bad.
I havent even levelled up once in many hours. Its challenges based for a pvp game. Your actual performance/kills etc have no effect. WOW just WOW.
343 just started making a good Halo game and might have just started destroying it with this Battle Pass. The steam forums have gone crazy.
''playing with a 1060 gtx 6 GB with mid-high setting and were able to get 40 fps or sometimes more or less, yes I was able to play this "Next gen game" with that framerate with a 1060 GTX, LOL!''
343 says You're Welcome
Been playing it for the past few hours and wow the shooting is so much more improved than every other Halo and is super tight. The camera, the fluidity and weight etc is so good right now. I never thought Halo would move away from that stiff camera feel.
The map sizes and design is just enough. You can tell by the exact jump corners and boost+jumps that take you a little over. Its bordering on excellent. During the fights I got that unreal tournament feel with very subtle c...
Yes finally some needed fixes.
I was almost certain it was gonna crash steam.
They proved me wrong.
It changed open world games for the industry.
Add Morrowind to that as well.
After playing it, I can confidently say that it has a long way to go to reach Diablo's standards.
Lost Ark was boring.
Soon it'll be a different sport.
Umm Sony has top tier exclusives and all the console AAA 3rd party games.
Yes Xbox had a good year and has its game pass + own exclusives and many ones next year and beyond along with all the 3rd Part games, BUT that does not mean Sony needs to become like Xbox.
This gen we will get to see different ideas play out.
Let it be.
Rip.
Now I dunno what to play this winter.
Well back to single player games.
