You need the right tools for the job, and sometimes to make bigger, richer and deeper experiences you need a starting platform which could mean more horsepower. I dont see Uncharted or The Witcher or Metal Gear Solid 4 happening on PS2.

As much as I really want the Playstation games to come to PC, I think maybe Sony should hold on to them and we should all buy a PS5.
Sony is tiny compared to MS but have always delivered in games and we should support companies that actually cater to us gamers. I will buy the new Nvidia gpu but will also grab a PS5. I think maybe have a 3yr gap before releasing the exclusives to other platforms.

Every start of a console generation, pc gamers slowly transition to newer hardware. The games basically demand it. So whether someones picks up the highest 3090 or the unnannounced 3060, they will all far outperform the console. Thats exepcted.
It will be a large number of pc gamers who want to play the coming generation of games who will buy into the new tech. Why? Because the minimums which are closer to 2070 and 2080 are basically same price if not cheaper with the 3070...

Those were 2080 vs 3080 tests along with Nvidia DLSS enabled. So it was an nvidia card tested against an nvidia card with nvidia dlss and drivers. Also the Nvidia card with similar hardware stats to Amd card always outperform them and sometimes quite greatly.
In theory the PS5 is at 10.28 tflops and is not an Nvidia card and the 3080 is at 30 tflops with 58 rt tflops
